Hello All!!

I have just recently started to get my art career off of the ground after graduating from art school. I am working locally as a freelance artist trying to get established. Quayside Gallery in Pensacola showcased my art for a bit. Also, I have participated in the local Angel's Garden Art Show. Last year I won the poster design contest for the State Fair....and I am hoping that this is just the beginning. I would love to continue to participate in local galleries, shows, and with the community.

If anyone is interested, I do take commissions!! I love working one-on-one with people!! I have a blog (jeslynsart.blogspot.com) so you can see all of my work.

This is me saying "Hello!" I am so happy to meet you!

Hello Jcantrel,
My daughter is also an artist,so I was curious and checked out your artwork. You are very talented! I could definitely see you opening up your own studio. Do you have any of your artwork in any of the galleries in Santa Rosa? Welcome, and best of luck in your career!

I like your artwork. I love the whimsical pieces.

Our daughter is also an artist. She graduated with a B.A. in art and design in May. She is also working hard to get her free-lancing art business going.

Her focus is on the wedding industry because after just getting married, she has seen that brides and their mothers are willing to pay twice as much for everything, whether it be invitations or photography. Her favorite thing to do is portraiture and photography, but most of her business right now is graphic design for invitation suites and for websites for brides and grooms. Most of the couples want their websites so customized that she spends most of her time coding (XHTML, PHP, MySQL) which she doesn't enjoy doing, but it helps pay the bills. She really needs some place to display her art work because online images don't do it justice. She is also writing and doing illustrations for wedding magazines such as Southern Weddings.

Good luck to you. It's a lot of work to get one's name out there. Hope that you (and our daughter) will be very successful!

I'm a school teacher in this area and have written a really neat picture book about 2 dogs who get loose in the French Quarter of New Orleans and go crazy. I've had a few people lined up to do the illustrations, but both times it fell through. Let me know if this is something you're interested in. I think our styles might match. It has potential to be very successful.

Thanks,
Ryan
