Need directions to Panama City Airport

I am headed to most beautiful coastline on earth!! We are picking up my cousin Saturday from the new PC Airport (ECP), and coming via this route from Montgomery: 231/87/81/20/79/388 (Thanks to everyone on another post for this!).

I've not been to this airport and cannot really get a good picture in my mind of how best to get there. Is it easy from 79 to 388? Google maps put me on a dirt road..😱

We almost decided to do 231 all the way, thru Dothan, etc., but there's not a straight shot to the airport from there either.

Thanks for any info!!

The left turn off of 79 to 388 is just before the bridge over West Bay. It you cross water, you went too far. There are signs. As far as the turn from 388 goes, you can't miss it.

There are signs everywhere. You'll have no problems...

You can come down 231 and take 390 or 20 to 77 and then 388. 79 is probably going to be your best bet.

Thanks! I think I might feel the most comfortable taking that 4-lane 231 all the way to 20, even tho it's a little longer. I just wanna be there already! ;-)

79 is much better now that it's widened, should be done by next year.

I broke down and called PC Chamber of Commerce, and spoke to the kindest man who happened to be from AL, and he advised us to take 231 from Montgomery, then 87, &167S which turns into 79 at the FL state line, then look for airport signs . He even gave me his cell #! :wub:

So thanks to all, and here we come!!

we took our son to the airport Wednesday to fly home and it was the most seamless flight to MO any of us had ever experienced, thanks so much to all who made this air port such an improvement to 30A!

You would not believe the opposition to the airport. If you ever get bored and feel like being shocked just do a search on here for it.

I'm amazed at the opposition to any changes planned for this area. Many people want it to stay just like it was the day they first layed eyes on it be it 10 years ago, 5 years ago, or yesterday.
