Sunday at about 11:30 a.m., my son and his wife were driving on 30-A, just past Alligator Lake and right before the 4-way stop at Grayton Beach. They looked off to the north and saw 2 large black bears and 2 cubs on the walking trail. They stopped and rolled down their window to take a photo, and the bears ran off.

Sounds like we will have more bear encounters this year on Scenic 30A - please drive carefully!

Sorry if I misled you. They were NOT on the bike trail but on the hiking trail that leads into the woods on the north side of 30A.

Military brought in a half a dozen or so to the Eglin reservation back in the 70's I believe to see how they would survive.
