On the agenda for the Oct. 26 county commission meeting is an ordinance proposed by a member of the business community to regulate campaign signs, establishing fees and deposits in connection with political signs.
Here is a link to the ordinance:

I hear that Bay County has a $200 per sign per day fine for signs left out more than x number of days after the election. Ouch!

Problem with that is you can really get over on a politician, just save up some of their signs and put them back out later.

They reported about it on the news and the county does work with candidates, it's not just a blind charge.

the most creative idea I heard was Jimmy Patronis' idea to pay the football players at one of the local high schools to pick up his signs...the money went to the school...the football department I guess.

Anyway, it was a good way to get the signs up quickly and more creative than just a contribution/donation to the cause...and from what I heard the students seemed excited about the money for the school.

It was for the baseball team. He's spending money like crazy to empty out those coffers, he raised $230,712.00 and only spent $163,921.32 as of October 29,2010. That's an awful lot of money to run against someone who only raised $4,904.00.

How do i contact him.
I just happen to operate a political consultancy that specializes in quickly spending leftover money.

You don't want to get involved in that, the money post election has to be even more carefully spent then before.

I do need to use you as a spokesman for something, but that's an off board conversation. BTW, did you change your phone number?

If you guys see any more of Sara's signs, especially in clusters, please send me a PM. Have had someone drive all the major roads and I think we are about done except maybe some stragglers out there.

Ta-daaaa!

Now someone remind me what bets I had out on this election. I think I am owed a hot dog or two, but can not remember. With my luck I may be buying.

They do, it's not this goofy ordinance. It's simply a fine per sign taken down by county workers. I agree with that much more than this deposit and tagging system that was apparently devised with a bong hit and a marathon of Swamp People.

Most apparent that the person who devised it is referring to a bomb (ordnance) instead of an ordinance
