From WZEP:
The Walton County Tourist Development Council (TDC) has completed the Santa Clara overflow parking project and opened it to the public. The new parking location is located in Seagrove Beach at the corner of Highway 30A and Bramble Grove. The added parking was needed to accommodate more beachgoers during the busy spring and summer tourist seasons.

The project consisted of storm water improvements, adding 35 parking spaces, a new cross walk with signage on 30A and installing a curb and gutter system.
Dave Sell, beach maintenance manager at the TDC says painting the striping on the parking stalls is the only remaining task, which will be completed after spring break.

Dawn Moliterno, executive director of the Walton County TDC says the project also has multiple benefits. She says they were able to provide additional parking to visitors to Seagrove Beach, as well as potentially secure additional federal funds for future a beach nourishment project long the Scenic 30A corridor.

The total cost for the project was $204,660. Based on the addition of the 35 parking stalls, the county could receive $700,000 in beach nourishment credits, a $20,000.00 credit for each stall.
