Who's voting for Ro?

As the deadline for qualifying for the November election approaches, potential candidates continue to register for two county commissioner seats.
Four candidates have pre-qualified thus far.

Incumbent Ro Cuchens, County Public Information Officer Sara Commander and former commissioner Gene Ryan, are in the running for the District Four seat. Ryan and Cuchens faced off in 2002, when Cuchen beat Ryan in the Republican primary election.

Interested candidates have until June 12 to register.

District Two Commissioner Ken Pridgen has pre-qualified to run with no opposition.

Candidates can qualify by petition method until June 19th, 2006 at noon. For those that wish to qualify paying the fee, they have until noon July 21st, 2006. If they do not submit enough petitions to earn a spot of the ballot, then paying the fee will get them that spot. The fee is based on a percentage of the annual salary. Approx $1500 for school board, $2000 for county commission.
