Commissioner Sara Comander Sick Leave

Isn't Sara Comander supposed to be on some sort of special kind of sick leave right now?

I saw her over the weekend at Seacrest beach with a bunch of surf gear, getting ready to go out on the water. She didn't look very sick to me!! She had a whole little picnic set up for herself, complete with what looked like a bottle of wine or champagne chilling in a bucket of ice. She was wearing a wetsuit, and she had a surf board laying on the towel beside her. Your tax dollars at work, folks!

Pictures worth a thousand words and you ain't got one... but it is funny. Commissioner Commander in a wet suit and a surfboard. Dude the mental image alone is laughable.

There isn't a single Commissioner who has the citizen's back as well as Sara Comander, although Commissioner Meadows runs her a very close second. The problem with many Walton County residents is that they don't realize the good things those on the Commission do for them. They only focus on the bad or their personal desires. I realize the post was an attempt at humor but it was very ill advised and thoughtless.

You saw her over the weekend...hmmm? Imagine if you will, that the County offices are closed on weekends!

And Kudos to you Sara if any of this is true....you absolutely deserve it but next time, invite your friends. We will take pics and share the champagne!! :)

What better way to get well than some white sandy beaches, great weather and a wet suit!!

Word on the street is she was trying to get out of doing a deposition where she has been sued for civil rights violation. Sara and Cecilia Jones cancelled and Enfeld showed up and gave his I heard. It was open to the public and a member of the WCTA and the SWCC were in attendance.

The word on the street is flat a** wrong! I suggest if you want the truth about any of this you call the source, though in this instance I would not blame her if she told you to stick it where the sun don't shine. Yes, she was scheduled to do a deposition because some idiot sued over an issue that IMO had no merit. I won't say who the idiot is, but they should know better. Sara Comander had a a very valid health issue. Some around here need to get a life!

Wow, an open to the public deposition. How does that happen.
Andy as far as merit, there are many things people have an opinion on I wouldn't want them to be the decider on, that is what the legal system is for.

Bob, it is my opinion that I was expressing. Furthermore, when this type of suit is concucted, guess who pays the Commissioner's legal fees? It is not the Commissioner, it is you and I, the taxpayer. In essence, such suits cost us both ways. If an issue can be settled without legal action as this one probably could have, all citizens are better off. The only gainers in this type of suit are the lawyers.

Probably because the Truth is a powerful thing and sometimes, it hurts.

When an Elected Government Official tries to deny a citizen their Constitutional Rights (documented in an Email), that is a major violation. Glad she's being sued.

As for the "idiot", I believe its "Idiots" with an "s". The Idiots are the ones that voted for the County to foot her private legal bill.

But now we get to see a free show at the depo. Money well spent.

John G, I'm not surprised at your response. Your posts usually show how little you know of what goes on in Walton County or what has transpired here before you arrived. One person's opinion based upon what I see. You are certainly entitled to your opinion and to express such just as I am doing. It is a right I, and millions of others, have served to protect.

One thing more on the filing of lawsuits. I have lived all over the United States and in foreign countries as well, and never have I seen the propensity to file lawsuits against local government and those who strive to serve the citizens of the area, that I have seen here. And no, it is not because our elected officials are worse than those who serve elsewhere. From what I have observed, it is because some constituents got their noses bent out of shape because they didn't get their way. I would also venture to guess that many have the money to pursue what I consider frivilous pursuits in order to satisfy their over inflated egos. Mistakes will always be made and local governing is no exception. But most of those mistakes can be solved without use of the legal system. It takes a lot of personal effort and compromise. Evidently, this is something many in Walton County are not capable of doing.

Or... is it possible, even plausible, that we have idiots running things and they take actions that benefit personal agendas and their friends, over that of the public and thus = Lawsuits... Just an idea.

When are you posters going to learn not to argue with the one true opinion that is simply better than yours due to superior education and life experience? A salute and a "thank you for your sacrifice sir" is all that is needed.

The "idiots running things" were elected by a majority of those voting in the county. I will suggest to you, as I have to others in the past, if you believe what you say and have better alternatives, run for office. I do not agree with your premise as far as some, actually most, of the lawsuits filed, is concerned. You are entitiled to your opinion and I to mine.
