That's where they take all the stuff left on the beach at night. Oh, wait...they don't do that, either!

It was in Sowal. Not sure it's still there. My understanding is that it was at the Courthouse Annex.

The fact it should never have been there in the first place is totally irrelevant.

At a courthouse handicapped parking space...

Glad it was moved - but remember that while they are technically courthouse handicapped parking spaces, they are on the BACK side of the parking lot, adjacent to the woods. A handicapped person parking in them would have to go all the way across the parking lot and halfway back out to Coastal Centre to come in the front door of the Courthouse Annex.
They were put there in anticipation of the construction of the Judicial Center, which was to be built to house a proper courtroom and the Clerk of Court in South Walton. Not sure what ever happened to that plan.

The issue is not where it was located as much as it was being in a HANDICAPPED parking space. Its against the law!

It is against the law.

The person that parked it there most likely did not receive any discipline...

Sometimes people make mistakes. And maybe sometimes we don't have to be assh*les.

We are more concerned that they have reduced the recyclables down to plastic and aluminum only. :(

Anyone know where we can recycle glass and paper?

Glass actually goes in with normal household trash because the County doesn't recycle glass. Paper should go into the bin at the courthouse annex.

Good to know. We'll run our papers over to the annex to recycle.
Had been able to recycle glass, aluminum, paper and plastic at Maul Dr and 98 before. now it's only Al and plastic.

I'm no eco-dude but glass has been recycled since Lassie was a puppy. It doesn't belong in a land fill.

I called the landfill this morning and their response to me was...Glass actually goes in with normal household trash because the County doesn't recycle glass. Paper should go into the bin at the courthouse annex.

Yeah, we'll just store glass recyclables until we go out of town and recycle elsewhere. Ours isn't going into the trash unless we have no other choice. :(

Rita,

Have you seen all the glass piled up at the trailers each week?

It looks like a wine store went out of business...

How do we, in 2017, not recycle glass??? We recycle politicians quite well.;)
