I'm not a Gaetz fan or a Trump fan for that matter however, for me this is a respect issue. If an elected official can't even show a congressional leader respect and listen to him, why should citizens expect that our elected officials would listen to us? Oh wait...she only listens to developers and special interests, not the citizens!

Why even bother to make an appearance at all? Ooops, that's what it was...an appearance!

Demonize? My opinion of that is, she earned that distinction long before Gaetz spoke last night.

Our elected officials represent us. I would expect them to show some courtesy if not some genuine interest in the substance of the speech.

She could have picked her nose the entire speech and it would have been time better spent compared to listening to Gaetz.

If I'm not mistaken, these photos are taken from Danny Glidewells facebook page. My point being that if we are going to make it out that Jones was not paying attention by being on her phone, then perhaps we should also bring attention to Glidewell doing literally the same thing paying more attention to his opponent than the speaker.

But, whoever took the photo is not our representative. Your manners matter when you are representing the citizens of this county, or this state, or this country. If you are a common citizen, you have every right to be a goober.

I really don’t care who took the photo. There is virtually a 100% chance it wasn’t one of my county representatives. It has to do with courtesy and respect when you are an elected official.

I did not take the photos. They were sent to me by someone in the back of the room. I was sitting on the 2nd row. I posted them because they offended my sense of decency and respect. The event was not mandatory and was clearly advertised as to who was speaking. So, if you were not interested, stay away. But show some respect if you attend.

Couldn't care less about Gaetz , who attended or what they did while attending. Anyone posting photos of someone using their phone in a political meeting needs to seriously stop and look within. Let's keep it civil. No petty drama.

I've been a pretty passive browser on this forum for a while. I decided to join today because I am tired of seeing people like you attack others over petty meaningless B.S. I have no doubt you support Glidewell because you both share the classless act of mud slinging. I have nothing to do with this or any election, I am just a politically engaged citizen which is hard to find now a days. I also have no doubt anyone will change the opinions of the ignorant, but that doesn't mean you'll stop people like me from calling you out

welcome to the jungle. I mean forum. FYI, Danny has been a SoWal forum member and contributer for a long time and often has a lot of good input about local issues. Just want to put that out there.
