With the 4th of July holiday coming up our friends at South Walton Fire District provide an informative overview of what fireworks are and are not legal in Florida.

Florida Fireworks, What’s Legal and What’s Not?

With July 4th right around the corner, it is important to remember that most fireworks are still considered illegal for consumer use in Florida, even if they're available for purchase.

We know that sounds confusing, so in order to help clear that up, SWFD would like to share the following facts.

As always, play it safe and leave the shows to the pros.

Fireworks Facts
SWFD

In 2017, eight people died and over 12,000 were injured badly enough to require medical treatment after fireworks-related incidents.

Additionally, fireworks start an average of 18,500 fires each year, including 1,300 structure fires, 300 vehicle fires and nearly 17,000 other fires.

Most consumer fireworks are illegal in the State of Florida. Play it safe this year and leave the shows to the pros.
