Those piles will either be used for building a retaining wall to fill in more or to elevate house above flood threat. Something similar was done on San Juan years ago (damage still exists, pictured below), code enforcement said it was a DEP issue and did nothing. A stop work order was only posted once an environmental engineer someone knew in Tampa looked into the lot permit and found it to be expired. Work stopped but not in time to save scores of really old pines and cypress trees and preventing a retaining wall from being erected and wetland filled.

You can see a posted hearing notice from last spring, not sure what exactly happened. The two other pics show that someone cleared the brush recently and put up a nice sterile parking spot I guess to entice someone foolish enough to buy the lot into doing so. It is starting to grow up with brush again. It should be noted that the water pictured in the Santa Clara snaps above would flow through here en route to Western Lake. Very nice thing to do :computer:

If Danny really would like to show he’s for the county’s best interest , go to the end of Santa Clara and lot on San Juan and post what he thanks about both lots.I will find it hard to believe that he would post a response

Today permit on board 3 story house permit. It’s being built in middle of creek where they built sea wall and filled with sand.

No answer from me glidewell,it’s easy to say we need something done with code enforcement, but if you still do nothing about violations what good is more officers.Talkis easy doing something about is a whole different case. So unless you plan on following through it’s just another empty promise.

Posting on the internet is easy for you. Have you tried to contact him directly? I bet he would be willing to discuss if you are respectful.

I was the one who got it shut down last year. This so now there back at it. Tony Anderson wouldn’t call me back. Had to go to the state to get done. Danny is the one who wants more code enforcement, so here’s his shot to show if he really wants to be for the people of the county.I ask originally for him to go look, I know it is Tony’s district but they all have a voteThe only way to get the commissioners to do something is call them out. Since Danny won’t respond, I’m going to post pics each day of progress. Right now they are adding dirt to thee middle of creek and pilings. I know tony won’t respond.I called him last year and only thing I got was lawyer said not to talk. So after tomorrow I’m going to start posting where I know land clearing for property was done with no permit. This might catch the ones who support them. I’m not sure how someone is allowed to fill a creek that supports western lake in then gets stopped. Then owner sells and new owner gets to put pilings and house in middle of creek. by the way was same person who’s suing county over gulf shore manor land. So starting tomorrow there will be over head photos of land that I personally know cleared with out permits. This is at the end of Santa Clara. There was a stop work order last year on it. Now they are starting to build where they filled in creek that runs into western lake. At that time I was told the lawyer frank Watson owned. It was up for sale not long ago not sure if it sold or not.

It’s in sea grove Santa Clara north . House before is 101 I think. It’s a short road that’s paved .

The lines are off , look at pool 7 set back from there. The sand you see is where the sea wall was built and 40 loads brought in.where the shadow is . The sea wall can be seen. Clearly the creek has been filled in .

How is it someone can build a house in the middle of a creek that feeds western lake, and they only answer I get is I don’t know. Jason from the building department was in a call with the state in 2018. At that time they shut it down , now there building a house in the middle of creek. The old owner is the same lawyer that’s heading up the group that is trying to take over gulf shore manor. Will the law suit is going on they are selling lots. Once there all sold what do you do. The county is slowly but surely losing case. They are leaving the owners out to dry. Thanks tony Anderson for nothing because that is exactly what you have done. When I called you even before law suit nothing then I call you again and nothing. I went to you’re office and the lady there spoke for you because you couldn’t even return a phone call and said , the county lawyer told you not to speak. Hey tony I know you have always delivered what other people thought as you where the mail carrier , how about meeting out at Santa Clara tomorrow. Then maybe you can voice you’re own opinion.you can even name the time

I think their trick in getting this approved is that bit of water is considered ‘non-contiguous’ with Western Lake watershed. I got a crash course on this BS previously. Since it is non contiguous all they have to do is elevate the ground floor a certain amount and boom, done. Now, people who have lived here a long time know darn well that that water flows under San Juan, through Grove by the Sea, Seagrove and into Watercolor emptying into the lake. Well, at least it used to. Now there will probably be flooding in neighboring properties, but what do these people care? They’ll just be counting the Saturday to Saturday money without regard to those of us who actually live here:bang::bang:

I was there about a year ago, the last house on the end was a rental and the water was right up against it and was stagnant and smelled nasty, with garbage in it. I would have been quite upset if I had rented it, especially with children.
