I just wanted to inform any of you that might be employers that you will be getting notices in the mail telling you that your State Unemployent Tax will be going up Jan. 1 2010. For some it may be mild but for most businesses it will double and triple. This is due to the high unemployment in florida and our funds pool being dry. Since the only money that funds unemployment benefits comes from SUTA taxes, then they have to raise your taxes to meet the demand. It doesnt help that unemployment benefits have been extended for up to almost 2 years!??? That doesnt help either!
Anyway, my name is Chad Blasi and I work for PRemployer here in walton county and we provide Payroll services, Workers compensation and risk management, HR support, and we can also help to lower your SUTA cost.I work with many restaurants and local business's in the area. If you are a victim of state unemployment tax increase please feel free to contact me to see if we might be able to save you money in 2010!

Good luck and God Bless!

The minimum rate is going up about 1200%, while the top rate is not increasing near that much. Those with a lot of employees are going to feel it.
