We used Summit Movers recently for a local move. I used them after reading all the positive reviews in this site. I'm sorry to say that we did not have such a positive experience. The two movers were young and inexperienced- I heard one say to the other, "This is the worst-packed truck I've ever seen." They did not use tv boxes to contain our large flat screen TVs, which I had been told they were going to use. During the one mile move, an antique table was broken, two other pieces of furniture damaged, and a hole put in the wall while moving a sofa. Also, once the boxes were in the house, the movers did not put them in the various rooms they were supposed to be in. They simply left them all in one room and we had to lug them to the correct rooms. Now, the owner, Mike, has been a pleasant man to work with, but we've had difficulty getting him to return calls, to show up when he says he's going to, and even to initially confirm that they "had us on the books" for our moving date. Fortunately, he was able to get the antique repaired but it has taken over 3 weeks to have the other damages addressed. I am very disappointed in this local company, when I really wanted to promote them to all of our friends and coworkers. Be wary if you have an upcoming move.
