Quincy shop in Seaside has fabulous toys, and also toys that can appeal to an artistic or curious mind (rather than being television/movie inspired) I bought a cool set for mixing your own perfume, and a little easel with paint by numbers canvases for toys for tots there. I will also check out the selection at movies by the sea.
