friends are coming down for a visit and wondered about surf fishing from the beach - do they need a permit? also, where would i find water temperatures posted? thanks - i don't know a thing about this stuff!

If they are out of state residents then yes they will need a permit. You can get them at Yellowfin in Seagrove. They can also load you up with bait and tips.
