Kudos to the city of Birmingham, Al :clap:for hosting the first round of the Davis Cup--U.S. againt Switzerland. The Swiss (and us too) were disappointed that Roger Federer was not able to participate due to injury, but a fabulous time was had by all.
If you've never been to a Davis Cup tennis match, it is completly different from anything else you've seen. It is quite raucous with costumes, flags, painted faces, etc. All 16,000 fans entering the arena were issued an air horn:yikes: and a plastic poster that turned into a loud clapping thingy. All of that was quite unnecessary for the Swiss since they all brought their own cowbells, some of which were big enough to put in a church steeple. The noise between each an every point played was incredible.

Thanks again Birmingham for a job well done on the tournament. Mr. A said that the tv announcers were extremely complimentary--so Great JOB and go USA
