Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Destin will host former presidential advisor Karl Rove for a booksigning April 26.
Rove served as senior advisor to President George W. Bush from 2000-2007 and was deputy chief of staff from 2004-2007. He now writes a weekly op-ed for The Wall Street Journal and is a Newsweek columnist and contributor to Fox News.
The political notable has owned a home in South Walton for several years and is frequently seen out and about in the community.
?He and his wife have been frequent customers at our store,? said B&N assistant manager Shawn Brown. However, this will be the first book signing Rove has done in Destin.
?We are very excited to have him here,? said Nicole James, merchandise manager.
Rove will be on hand to sign copies of his new book ?Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight? at 3 p.m., at the store, located at 34904 Emerald Coast Parkway.
The event is free and open to the public, but due to a recent unruly incident in California at an event, media will not be allowed. The event is a signing only.
