Billabong Grom Comp 2010-Surf Contest for kids

Yep thats right, time for another Billabong Grom Comp folks!!! It's been a long cold, gray, and wet winter but summer is finally here and what better way to kick it off than with a kids surfing competition. Originally set to go off on May 15th we have decided to push it back to the following weekend May 22nd, just to make sure the the coast is clear. This year we have added an under 6 division as well as an Open Division, which is open to all but the catch is you have no assitance catching waves, it's all up to you. Our sponsors Billabong, Meyer Skimboards and Dakine are hooking up all participants with all kinds of goodies from hats to t-shirts, skimboards and Global Surf Industies has even thrown in an NSP surfboard to be given away. So if you missed last years events don't blow it and miss this years, you'll be sorry you did.

What an incredible event we had last weekend. Almost 75 kids turned out for the contest and everything fell right into place. The waves were close to perfection as was the weather all day long. One of the head honchos from Billabong HQ stopped by for the day and was blown away- that kinda says it all. Thanks to everyone who participated in the event and also a huge thanks to our sponsors (Billabong Grand Boulevard, Billabong Camps, Ride On Surf School, Meyer Skimboards, Aloha Surf Company, Da Kine, Global Surf Industries Johnny Rockets, Kilwins Ice Cream) who helped make it the best one yet. Look for the next contest to go down sometime late summer. We'll keep you posted........
