(February 3, 2012) From the novice tennis player ages five and up to the highly skilled middle or high school player, Sandestin Tennis has the perfect program to develop their game and ignite their passion for tennis.

The Sandestin QuickStart program will be held Monday-Thursday from 4-5pm and introduces children ages 12 and under to the game of tennis using using smaller court and racquet sizes, foam and decompressed balls, a simplified scoring system and lowered net height. Tuesdays and Thursdays are for beginners ages 5-8 and Mondays and Wednesdays are reserved for children with a little more experience.

“Last year was a great success for Sandestin’s QuickStart program,” Todd Hanson, Director of Tennis, said. “Children were able to rally and play out points much earlier during their developing stages.”

Immediately following the QuickStart program from 5-6pm on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, the intermediate and advanced clinics swing into action. These clinics will challenge the junior tennis player to develop successful strategies and to evaluate the opponent’s strengths and weaknesses while improving their overall technique.

Last year, Sandestin Tennis had more than 100 different children to participate in the two programs. If you would like more information or want to sign up your child, please call 850-267-7060 or email juniortennis@sandestin.com.
