We went to the new Graffiti in Carillon this past Saturday night, and it was such a wonderful meal! This is not a fancy restaurant review, and I hope PV will chime in and give us the particulars of our food, because I didn't take notes---

Shawn, Jeremy, Joe, and our own POTATOVIXEN really threw down for amazing food and service. We had a party of 6, and in typical fashion with this particular group, the Grafitti peeps had to fight to be heard, but they persevered and kept us "on task"!

I had wine, but the margaritas and a fancy martini came to the table, and were reported to be good. The margarita drinker had 3 of them, so I think they passed the taste test, then the martini drinker switched to margaritas, probably because the glass was larger. Thankfully, I stuck with wine.

We ordered the fried green tomato with crawfish appetizer and passed it around. The sauce was one of those yummy ones that everyone starts sliding the bread around and sopping it up until all the plates are wiped clean. We pretty much licked up every drop of that sauce.

We were split 50/50 on our dinner selection- half of us had the grouper (with a hazelnut butter) and the other half had the shrimp/scallops/grits dish. I don't think any plates went back to the kitchen with food on them!

Oh PV- the creme brulees were so fantastic- classic and chocolate, right? The perfect ending with one of my absolute favorite desserts.

The restaurant itself is very bright and vibrant- lots of artwork. Both Gaffreys are represented on the walls. There is an enclosed porch area that overlooks the lake in Carillon- the view is pretty.

Go see PV and crew soon! We can't wait to return!

We have an open line, so we in the kitchen can see and hear what's going on in the dining room, and vice versa. Jdarg kept peeking over the counter and giving status reports on how everyone was enjoying everything. I kept hearing Jdarg and Kitty laughing.

My favorite moment of the night: I was talking with a server about one of his orders, and we hear Kitty yell (from across the room) "I THINK SHE'S EVIL AND MUST BE KILLED!!!"
No idea who she was talking about, but we cracked up in the kitchen.

Can't wait to give it a try! STLDon sent us to the original Graffiti in Destin a couple of years ago, and the meal was awesome. Looks like the new one knows how to hire good help!

Graffiti's CB...

...great reviews on a great evening at Graffiti's! It is a neat place with a cool ambience! The margarita's are outstanding! Here's what we ordered (I took a paper menu)...

Spicy Crawfish & Fried Green Tomato....yum yum, the sauce was divine!
House salad w/ roasted pecan blue cheese dressing...terrific dressing!
Shrimp & Scallops Low Country...perfect combo, w/ smoky gouda grits!
Hazel Grouper...covered in almonds and topped w/ a delicious hazelnut butter sauce!

Of course, we tried to not order dessert...what a near miss! PV had made the most delicious creme brulee plate...vanilla and chocolate brulees with a raspberry sorbet and whipped cream in the middle! Some of us took more than our share! ;-)

Everyone associated with this restaurant was so welcoming and fun! PV is well loved and when I peeked at her in the kitchen, she looked right at home! If you have a party of two or four, request a table on the porch with a view of the lake! I hope I can go back after the review on my loud, obnoxious behavior .

Thanks PV and friends...we will be back to Graffiti's!

They did have a kids menu. I'm quite sure we were louder than any kids that would ever visit and no one seemed bothered by us.

Graffiti is very family-friendly. There are a few items on our kid's menu, and there is also the option to order a kid-sized version of any entree for half the price.

Graffiti at Carillon

Thanks for the great reviews on Graffiti at Carillon. We tried it for dinner tonight. Indeed, the Shrimp & Scallop Low Country was AMAZING!! The taste will be something I will crave until our visit again next year. My husband had the Hazel Grouper and thought it was very tasty! Our 20 year old daughter had the Mac & Cheese off the kids menu because she does not yet have a more discriminating palate, but thought her selection was great, too. Nice atmosphere, too. Their house salad and balsamic vinagrette dressing was also excellent - as I consider myself a connoisseur of balsamic vinagrettes.

Next time, I might try the Seafood Pasta, but it's going to be hard not to get the Shrimp & Scallop Low Country again.

The waiter was very nice, too - a former fellow Ohioan...
