I'm not much for cheese, but I do love a good grilled cheese. I like the idea of adding bacon, except for what it adds to my waistline.

That's weird- they were open last Saturday for the yard sale! I saw a gal with a grilled cheese and she pointed at the Airstream.

Maybe it was promo. With 1000+ people roaming around, maybe they pushed it out for some good publicity. It doesn't look open to me, as they were closed at lunch time yesterday, and not a sole in sight.

Confessions of a cheese head - I drove by yesterday, too, hoping for lunch. All buttoned up and nobody there. Maybe we can get Kurt to set up a live camera.

BTW, and a little off topic, did anyone see the episode of Good Eats where he was making French toast? It brought home the importance of attending to details, even when preparing simple food. I'm looking forward to a professionally prepared grilled cheese.

None of the current airstreams sell fish and chips. Lack of storage/cooler space, plus you need deep fryers, hood vents and exhaust fans, plus used oil bins.

I don't even know if Shrimpers sells anything like that.

It is just mean to get us all excited when we can't get grilled cheese.

they need to get some licensing handled to be open full time. they are open on weekends being supported by full kitchen.

Thanks for your interest in the Meltdown! Here's an update-until we finish up the work on our Airstream, we will be open on limited basis for special events and Seaside Farmers Market Saturdays. Please follow us on Facebook @ meltdownon30a for opening hours, menus, and daily specials. And since everyone has a favorite grilled cheese sandwich, please let us know what yours is and we will try to add it to our rotating daily special.
This Saturday, we will be open from 9-1. We'll be serving breakfast sandwiches with Renee's local organic eggs, Gouda cheese and applewood smoked bacon, and traditional grilled cheese sandwiches, brown bag ham and cheese, and housemade pimento cheese and bacon. Stop by and see us for shooter of tomato basil soup on us! And bring the kids, we have little Meltdowns, too!
