Just saw report on WZEP and Facebook that the Red Bay Grocery may be lost...

Not only an excellent place to eat, but near and dear to our neighbors in the Red Bay Community.

I am so sorry for the people who invested in this (I read Kurt's article on how it came about.). We had planned to stop by on our next trip to the beach.

oh, this makes me so sad. it had been there for such a long time and its latest "life" was so energizing to the community...and the food was excellent!

I wanted to eat there! Sounded so cool!

What a loss to that community. I grew up in the sticks. I know what this store means to them.

I like going on 81 to PDL.

Its really too bad. It was a nice, out-of-the-way, place to eat and the food was great. The news this morning said it was a total loss. I, as others, hope they will rebuild but it won't have the same ambiance, I'm afraid.

Wow, almost went that route on the way home yesterday but took the Kinston way instead - so sorry about this - always wanted to eat there - will definitely go when it is rebuilt!

We have talked and talked about going to the Red Bay Grocery and never made it. Rebuild and we will come!!

Dining at the Red Bay Grocery's previous life was ...colorful also.

So I look forward to the reincarnation.

For me it will be at least a three-peat...maybe a four-peat.

According to WZEP this morning, the damage was not as bad as first thought! Hooray.

hopefully they will be back in operation soon--the food is excellent and the feeling of community is priceless.
