I went in last night, and decided to go elsewhere because they no longer had full bar, and I wanted a martini. I asked my server what was going on and he just mumbled "we're closing...to relocate. This is our last night." Anybody heard anything about this?

When I was there in April, one of the locals mentioned to me that they were relocating to Gulf Place.

Moving to Gulf Place; they've already started management of The Naked Grape there as well.

Have always thought fantastic food but building not so great. Wish them very well in new location and will track them down in June!

Fire is moving over to their new location in Gulf Place this week. There will be a full bar, wonderful food, and fantastic staff
The new building looks amazing inside!

Since they're never open on Sunday nights (just for brunch), I find it odd you went in there and were told that.
They have been planning the move for months and have been waiting for the space to be ready. No closing, just moving to Gulf Place.

Sounds great. I look forward to visiting their new location. I've always enjoyed their food. They have some really unusual and inventive offerings.

Brenda said they hoped to be open in the new location by Mother's Day but not too sure they'll make it. If not it will be soon after. They have the whole first floor in the building north of the pharmacy and Naked grape. Quite an upgrade which will also include sidewalk tables.

Where oh where will Redd's table be?

A really great move for Fire, and also fantastic for Gulf Place. I can totally see Gulf Place becoming the place for some of the best food in SoWal (SoWal's Nola - between Fire and Smiling Fish - and then ya got Stinky's not too far away...), really good music, good shopping (including the Artists!) and just hanging out! The first annual Crawfish Boil was just a few weeks ago! What else could anyone want?

Sowanola...isn't that a tribe of natives known to party hardy along the coastal dune lakes of 30-A...?

Hope Fire does great there. Will check it out soon.

It just keeps getting better and better for us Dune Allen foodies. Use my car less and less when I'm in town. Welcome Fire to our end of 30-A.

Gulf Place is so much more of a destination for us each visit. The Grayton shops, north of 30A, are our of sight, out of mind. Location, location, location.
We haven't eaten at Smiling Fish in years. Want to try the pizza restaurant on the second level. Like looking around the shops - and have bought gifts there. Good to know.
And the trolley would be perfect for this. Ride from Seaside. Watch the scenery; walk around Gulf Place; head back.
That should be a mellow wait - but hope it isn't too long of wait each visit. That would be the only negative - too popular and not enough trolleys. I'll worry about that later
At least we'll be hanging out in a wonderful place - 30A!
