This year the gumbo cook-off is Saturday, Feb. 13 from 12-4pm. This winter festival favorite is back for the 27th Annual Sandestin Gumbo Festival. Sample a variety of gumbo and vote your favorite as the “People’s Choice” winner! Dark or light roux? Chicken, sausage or seafood? Celebrity judges will name the “Area’s Best,” and award the most creative set-up as “Best Display.” Gulf Coasts restaurants will be featured along with live music and children’s activities. Seriously good food and what a great time. Last year was perfect weather, previous years have been quite cold, but it is awesome no matter. We usually see Dikki Du & The Zydeco Krewe performing at the festival.
