TFT is correct. Six months plus one day will allow you to escape collecting and paying bed taxes to Walton County and the TDC.
I'd suggest that anyone complaining about rents to either check it out and see the house in person, or just simply keep looking. Offering a rental for only six months (and a day) can be a plus for some people. The owner didn't say that they have to sign only a six month agreement.
