Free me from this thread!Don't worry, just pray and lay your worries at the feet of Little Baby Jesus. Speaking of Little Baby Jesus, has everyone but me seen that movie. I keep waiting for the SoWalCo Library to get a copy.![]()
I mean I hope everything works out but like Kimmi said something isn't adding up.

Let's hope everyone learns from this one. Don't get pets unless you can afford to get them vaccinated, neutered, and safely confine them. If you can't do/afford all three, you have no freaking business having pets. If your life is transient, don't get a pet. If you are gone all day and into the night, don't get a pet.
You also shouldn't get one if you don't have the free time to love and exercise it! People REALLY do not understand how much time, expense, and attention are involved in being a good dog owner. It's a furry child!
Friend's moron sister is now a first time dog owner - she had a Huskie puppy flown in sight unseen from Oklahoma and is so clueless she thinks a diaper genie is the solution to cleaning up after it because its "poo smells"! This will NOT end well for the poor dog!

I am tired of trying to defend myself, my credibility or my dog raising abilities. None of you even know me. I wanted those dogs. I have had (multiple) dogs before. None (well, maybe 2 of you) of you even know my current work status. I work from home most of the time- and so does my roommate and we/I would be with my dog(s) almost 24/7 which seems to be a much better deal than having them locked up for 8 hrs a day while someone else is at work. I am not going anywhere or moving anywhere else. But of course- everyone here seems to know what's best for me- which is odd considering none of you know me. No offense- but I think only I can make that call.
She had seemed hesitant for well over a week, not responding to my prior email request for her to call me since I have been w/o internet for a week, and then when I finally got her number to call- she was crying over them leaving. It was obvious she wanted to keep them- and she really gave me no other option. She said she had been thinking this way ever since my first job here fell through- and she also cited that I was "young" and she was giving me an "out" by keeping them. Unfortunately, I didn't want an out. I wanted the dogs. But, I do understand how she had gotten attached- I mean- how cute are they? Unluckily for me- that means she's not giving them up.
Apparently a lot of people who don't know me- doubt me. I am not a child, and I can take care of myself (and animals.) I'm just so annoyed lately by the constant doubt. No offense- but if I need advice- I am the first to ask for it.
I don't sugarcoat. I tell the hard truth- which apparently really bothers some people- so I am leaving it to the basics here.
*PHEW* and that is me venting my frustrations about this whole thing, and now I am done. If I seemed ticked off- it's probably because I am- but I'll be over it in about 10 min.

Bluefox, First let me say bravo for speaking your truth. I for one have been watching and waiting to see how this played out. I want to welcome you to the area and I hope you fall in love with the warm and caring people I have met the last 22 years. Now second...this is to anyone reading this. Yesterday another girl posted a dog on the board and for 2 or more hours received private messages about her posting this dog. Some were nice some were not. I will not use names. I think we need to take care of our own stuff and allow other people the same respect.

People sending rude PMs to someone posting that they have a dog who needs a home is NOT nice behavior, but the advice people have been posting on this thread HAS been polite and it is more cautionary than critical in tone.
Far too many "cute puppies" get neglected, abused, and ultimately euthanized because folks don't understand the commitment of owning a dog. Sorry if my post hit a nerve, it was a general addition to jdarg and mango's posts after hearing about the doggie diaper genie, not a personal attack.

My point was- unsolicited advice isn't always welcome. I don't like being told that I shouldn't have a dog because I am young and careless (that is the feeling that came across.) This is a general statement as well- and not aimed at one person. This goes for all involved. This wasn't a forum for advice- it was to find the dogs a home- and apparently they have found one.

Good luck puppies.
I'm sorry Bluefox. I hope you find the perfect puppy for you in the right time.
Sorry it didn't work out BF! Sounds like those puppies already have a wonderful home. and you'll find the right pup for you, no doubt. it will be love at first sight. she'll steal your heart away and then you'll talk about your pup to anyone who will listen, as if its your first babe... we're all guilty of such dog talk!

Me too! Just had a week w/ my 6 month dark chocolate lab "nephew", milk chocolate "cousin" and my german short hair pointer "little sister". I'm now in puppy withdrawal!
I'd love one of my own, but just can't take care of one properly right now

Ditts. I want a bulldog, but I can't take care of it.
You know, if you filled your right hand up with everything you want, and then your left hand with everything you need, which one would be more full?
hmmmm......can't remember

If you don't want unsolicited advice or comments, don't post your life info on an internet message board. We became a lot more involved than we really wanted to in this drama.
I think many lessons were learned on this thread. I am sorry for everyone involved that there was no happy ending here, despite the best efforts of some very wonderful people.

I think it wasn't my life being posted- it was a request for someone to find a home for dogs. I wanted to be the home. This wasn't a post asking for advice. Again I have had about 5 private emails from people who think ya'll are jumping on me for no reason and they don't post here because everyone is so judgemental. I on the other hand will just tell your to keep your advice to yourself. I was also told that asking me to give all of my things away is plain rude. It's as if everything said on here needs a devil/angel to play out all sides. There wasn't even an arguement here- just a bunch of peoplke who wanted to add their 2 cents when it wasn't necessary.
The dogs have a home. Thread should be closed.
The end.

For real- leave this girl alone. She wanted the dogs and this woman kept them. Have a heart people. Who are you to tell her if she can have a dog or not?

Or just expect people to be decent humans and stop judging others when you have no idea what's even going on... I know it's a foreign concept and all...

BlueFox,
I really hoped it would not have to come to this but you leave me no choice. I have sat silently by for the last 6 weeks (3 longer than I originally expected to have the pups) and was going to just let people form their own opinions about why I am keeping the dogs but since you aired your side of the story, I think I am entitled to mine so here goes.
I picked the dogs up on August 1st with the understanding that you would get them on August 20th. Never from the start did I intend to keep these dogs permanently. I have my own 2 dogs that I love with all my heart and I was planning to "foster" Lola and Zeppie until you moved here.
Obviously your job fell through...I think we all know about that thanks to another thread. I am sorry that happened but never once did you call me and tell me about it or ask me if I could keep the dogs longer...I had to read about it in your posts.
While you were here meeting with the job you thought you had, you asked if you could come by and meet the dogs on Wednesday or Thursday. I said "of course". You never showed up to meet them and you never called to say you were not coming. I wanted to think it was because you were preoccupied with the job thing but then I read on sowal (again) that you had a great time meeting so and so while you were here. So, you obviously had enough time to party, just not enough time to come by to see the dogs.
And then of course there was the weekend that I told you about where we needed someone to watch the dogs for a nite while we went out of town for a concert which we had planned for months beforehand. You got on Sowal and assured me and everyone else that you had it taken care of so we quit looking for someone to take them. The day before the concert, I called you to find out who was taking them so I could call them and make plans and you told me "sorry, the person I thought could take them can't take them after all". If I hadn't called you, were you ever going to call and let me know? As it was, we called all over for kennels, finally found one about an hour before we wanted to leave town and ended up driving back home the same night so that I could get them out first thing in the morning.
We all know (from yet another post) that you moved here September 1st. I emailed you and asked if we could please set up a time for you to get the dogs because my family and I wanted to make plans for Labor Day but would not do so unless we knew you would have the dogs by then. You said it would take several days to unpack and we agreed that you would get them the Tuesday after Labor Day. However, the same day you moved here you posted saying you needed to relax and wondered what was going on in the area. I posted back and said "how about relaxing with two cute dogs?" Was I put out at that point?...without a doubt. I was home watching your dogs while you were looking for a good time.
And last but not least....I did not respond to YOUR email request asking me to call you?? You didn't ask me to call. You asked for my phone number which I gave you. If you would go back and look at posts I think you could find my phone number on more than one post. I know it is on there when I was looking for someone to watch the dogs. And at that time, you obviously still had the internet...you were emailing me! When you finally called me last Sunday I called you back within an hour. At that point, you are right, I did cry. I cried because I knew in my heart you were not the right person to take these two adorable puppies. To me you have shown no committment and no desire to really have these pups. Talk is worthless without follow through and talk is all I have from you so far.
Last but not least....why do you feel the need to be so defensive about EVERYTHING BlueFox? From reading the posts I think people have tried to be really nice and give you some great advice. If I were a young gal like you in a new place, I would be welcoming it. But I think you have made it very clear that you do not need anyone's advice.
I hate that this really nice story ended up like this. It was never my intention but it is what it is. Have we fallen in love with Zeppie and Lola? Absolutely. What is not to love?
I wish you nothing but the best BlueFox. Without ever meeting the dogs, I find it pretty hard to belive that you were ever really that attached. I am sorry if you were.

Huskerfan, I didn't say everything- but I will now.
First- in our first conversations I tried to find a place for them to stay for a night- I was unable to- I ONLY KNEW 2 PEOPLE IN TOWN. Yes, I DIDN'T come to see the dogs when I was in town for all of 2 days because I was looking for housing and then the job bomb dropped. I had no time to visit. I did talk to you while I was here. I moved here on the 1st after unloading a truck all damn day- and you're right, with boxes to the ceiling and barely able to move I decided to have a drink after working for a week solid on this move AND I WAS A GUEST IN SOMEONE ELSE'S HOME. You then emailed me and called and said you'd be glad to hold them for a few more days till I was ready- I was grateful- I didn't think they sHould come home to a house of boxes. WHEN I EMAILED YOU I SAID I WAS W/O INTERNET FOR A WEEK AND TO PLEASE PLEASE CALL ME ASAP- YOU RESPONDED WITH AN EMAIL WITH YOUR NUMBERS THAT i DIDN'T GET FOR ANOTWER WEEK. I can repost if if you'd like to claim I am still lying. Go re-read it. Don't you dare call me a liar because I am NOT.
"I still don't have your number and would like to get ahold of you. I will be w/o internet access for probably another week. Let me know! "
I understand that you are attached to these dogs, and that's fine, I'm sure if I had them for an extended period of time I would want to keep them as well- but don't make it out like I am unfit to take dogs- because you offered to hold them for longer. I told you I could have taken them when I got here- and you said it "really wasn't a problem" and that "you didn't mind." So please, please, don't sully my name because you decided to keep the dogs. Not fair. I didn't go back on my promise AT ALL. As a matter of fact we had set a time for me to come and get them and you changed your mind less than 2 hours prior to pick-up.
Seriously- you called once sobbing about how you much you loved them and were shaken up aout their impending departure adn then the next day you sat there naming all the bad things about the dogs trying to get me to give them to you said that this could be my "out." You could have just said - I'd like to keep them, sorry. Instead, you're doing exactly what these board people are doing and claiming I'm not ready for dogs when you have no idea and you just wanted an excuse to keep them. Remember- I finishing installing the doggie door when you called and cancelled on me.
