Looking for an Native American arrow head for a child's collection case. I wasn't sure if Ft. Walton Beach's Indian Mound Museum carried this type of stuff but thought I would ask before I hit the internet?

Here's a suggestion... give the child a more valuable gift, and if they're interested in owning an arrowhead, explain that collecting artifacts from public lands is not only illegal, it permanently destroys the object's original context and meaning -- the information that helps archaeologists piece together the larger story of how Native Americans lived on the land.

You can buy an arrow head in many different places and it is not considered illegal! My dad and siblings used to walk newly plowed fields in Florence, SC where we would find many indian artifacts with the permission of the owner. I myself found a wonderful arrowhead last year in Carabelle while walking along the bay shore...it was in the water and certianlly not in an illegal site.
I think a "LEGAL" arrowhead is a wonderful gift for a child and sparks much useful conversation and learning! I would never discourage a child from receiving such a precious gift.
