No, he's just stupid. He's an idiot. Did I really just type that? My staunch Republican parents are probably going to write me out of the will.

Tough call--is it stupidity or incredible cojones? Something has to account for someone getting input from so many sources and then taking the total opposite tack.

Yes, I agree with you LBH & that has been my stance the first time he was elected. I am still amazed tho at the amount of people that still support him.

I always feel safe when I'm up against Bush supporters when I exclaim how I HATE this war. They can translate if they want, but there aren't many who disagree with my sentiment.

When he was elected, I was relieved that he surrounded himself with so many knowledgeable and experienced advisors. But even then I knew he was not a rocket scientist. To say that he has incredible cojones almost gives him a little too much credit - I still say he's an idiot. And I don't think I will ever again in clear conscience vote for someone just because I feel they are the lesser of two evils.

I am just waiting to see what his next distraction to help us forget about this "War Against Terrorism." Why don't we instead focus on getting gov't more out of our pockets? The IRS needs to be revamped and diminished. With a growing elderly population and Soc. Security being drained, we need to be addressing some health care savings programs. The Constitution provides for a defense of this country, not an offense against a different form of gov't. I know the middle east is a bit screwed up from many things, the number one thing being fights over religion. Has been and will continue to be. Saddam was a bad man in my opinion, but are we supposed to play big brother to everyone on the planet, at the expense of our own citizens? We have plenty of problems here that need some major attention. I say that our gov't is screwed up and needs an overhaul on many levels. We need leaders who care more for the citizens of this country than they care for the friends making big bucks, and paying back evil promises which helped put the leaders in the powerful positions. They are ruining this country and its people, and we all are so tired that we give up and they continue to win. I don't blame you guys for being tired. It will be a life-long fight, and we may never see the benefit, but our future generations need some help. Don't give up -- Give a D@mn! Shout it out and let it be known to all, and do it often. ;-)

I don't know if his plan is good or bad. What I DO know is that I haven't seen anything better from the democrats. All we get from that bunch is whining and finger-pointing.

This "War on Terror" is stripping away our Constitutional rights. In our Country today, forget about trying to change our Gov't -- You will be declared a terrorist and can be thrown in prison indefinitely thanks to the actions of Congress after Sept 11. That is step one. Remove our rights to free speech. Bush sidestepped Congress and the Judiciary and now all over your searches on Google.com can be monitored by the Gov't. Oh, let's not forget your email. Better be careful what you say... (free speech is banned).

SJ, makes me think of the Gerald Ford quote that released after his death: "I just don't think we should go hellfire damnation around the globe freeing people, unless it is directly related to our own national security," Ford told Woodward.

Don't play that argument on a group that did not manufacture b.s. to start an entirely avoidable war. I've screwed up, so you solve this mess with a better idea? That sounds like a 6 year old. GW should keep the buck in his own stinky back pocket on this mult-billion dollar lynching of Saddam and not try to pass it on to others.

Lives in the Balance
Lyrics and Music by Jackson Browne

Ive been waiting for something to happen
For a week or a month or a year
With the blood in the ink of the headlines
And the sound of the crowd in my ear
You might ask what it takes to remember
When you know that youve seen it before
Where a government lies to a people
And a country is drifting to war

And theres a shadow on the faces
Of the men who send the guns
To the wars that are fought in places
Where their business interest runs

On the radio talk shows and the t.v.
You hear one thing again and again
How the u.s.a. stands for freedom
And we come to the aid of a friend
But who are the ones that we call our friends--
These governments killing their own?
Or the people who finally cant take any more
And they pick up a gun or a brick or a stone
There are lives in the balance
There are people under fire
There are children at the cannons
And there is blood on the wire

Theres a shadow on the faces
Of the men who fan the flames
Of the wars that are fought in places
Where we cant even say the names

They sell us the president the same way
They sell us our clothes and our cars
They sell us every thing from youth to religion
The same time they sell us our wars
I want to know who the men in the shadows are
I want to hear somebody asking them why
They can be counted on to tell us who our enemies are
But theyre never the ones to fight or to die
And there are lives in the balance
There are people under fire
There are children at the cannons
And there is blood on the wire[/FONT]

That was beautiful, DD. Thanks for posting.

I don't know what to make of this...I hope it's sincere, but something tells me that Rove told him to rub some Vick's Vapo-rub in his eye.

It's running under the banner "Tears of a President" on Drudge. It was taken today at a Medal of Freedom ceremony for a soldier who died after throwing himself on a grenade to protect the rest of his men.
