Let's talk teeth...

So, after recently seeing a game show where the answer was "32" to the question, "how many teeth does the human adult have?", I was prompted to count my own pearly whites. I have 24 (well, only 23. No wisdom teeth, no premolars and an unfortuante waterslide incident long ago).

This thought started the train and I recalled an "arguement" I had with a friend about when to floss one's teeth - before or after one brushes...I said after - I like to remove as much gunk first by brushing. He argued before. Just yesterday, I visited the dentist and realized Marney flossed my teeth prior to sandblasting/cleaning my teeth.

So, all this rambling utlimately leads to these questions:

How many teeth do you have?​
and :idontno:​

Do you floss before or after you brush? (Or do you floss at all? :eek: )

24 teeth...don't ask...had to have a bunch pulled before braces. They look fine now!:biggrin:

floss after! fff brother's a dentist...he says after!:biggrin:

After kickball, at Amore, I had two people counting their teeth. It was a funny sight - one was using his tongue, the other her finger. :biggrin:

Ok - but will you be flossing first or brushing first?

I'll ask my hygenist to count my teeth when I go tomorrow to get them cleaned. Never do for yourself what you can pay someone else to do!! :lol:

i will be watergull since jfunn will probably play (maybe i can borrow that bullhorn!) and we will bring a flashlight and count your teeth!:biggrin:

And to think I am going to miss this! I'll be in California - only the second kickball game I'll have missed and it will be the teeth countin' game! ARGH!

Ok - but will you be flossing first or brushing first?

I am in agreement with you. Get the gunk off first, then floss, but then I re-brush.
You should have gotten pics of the teeth counting. :rolling:

Alright now, we've got the brushing and flossing down pat, but does anyone here scrape their tongue? I've seen those scrapers next to the brushes at the drugstore.

Then there's the brushes with bumps on the other side to double clean. Too many gizmos in the dental world!!

32. I have a big mouth, plenty of room for all of the wisdom teeth.

Brush then floss and sometimes brush again. I'm pretty OCD about flossing.

My sister is, too. I've been riding with her on the freeways of Dallas with her driving at a high rate of speed and simultaneously looking in the mirror while flossing.:eek: My dentist gave me a box of those little plastic dental picks to give her as a gift to hopefully save her life (since you don't need to look in the mirror while using them). She says that she's left several dinner parties early because she couldn't wait to get home and floss.:funn:

OK...28, I have a missing eye tooth so my ortho pulled the other one...slapped on braces and now I have 2 missing front teeth plus I had 2 wisdom teeth pulled.
I usually floss before brushing...maybe I have to re-think this???????:idontno:

now you know all you have to know about allifunn....:eek:

floss after brushing but rinse thoroughly after flossing.

28 teeth - had wisdom teeth removed in my early 20's. I brush first, then scrape, then floss (yes I am one of those people who scrape their tongue!) I also keep floss in my purse - my teeth are very close together and I often get things like pepper, oregano, etc. stuck on the front teeth after meals.

What a bunch of toothy people! I have 24 teeth. I have had 19 teeth pulled by the dentist or oral surgeon, which does include my wisdom teeth. I have a small mouth, but it packs a big punch. :twisted:

So, your theory about big mouths with lots of room for teeth talking alot has now been shot to he!!. :biggrin:

i have 27 teeth well 26 1/2, one is broke that i am gonna get a crown on so that doesn't count. i floss before brushing, and during the day when i need to. i brush my tongue but don't scrape it.
