Anyone see the American Idol auditions last night from Minnesota. These auditions are hilarious. Saw a few hopefuls last night but a lot of embarrassing auditions also. Tonight they are going to be in Seattle. Simon claims Seattle had the worst auditions of all the cities. Memphis will be on next week. :clap_1:

His Aunt, Choir director, and a friend of the family was GMA this morning. The first positive feature about him. It was refreshing to hear people talking about him in a good way! I'm not sure which one said it, but one of the hosts said they were voting for Sanjaya! Not just JLO feeling the love for him! I'm pretty sure his hair was his, he does have an abundance and he had the start of the moustache last week.
I have heard many different people going home tonight. I think it is going to be very close tonight.

Jordin's "I Who Have Nothing" is the best I have heard of all the downloaded music, followed by Blake's "Time of the Season" and Sanjaya's "Bathwater." Both the last two are getting airplay now!

I hope Sanjaya doesn't end up being dysfunctional... just a cute kid who is playing it up for the camera. He seemed flirty and like he was having fun and making some fun of himself as well. So far, he seems fine. If his sister was indeed posing nude that's not a good sign. If he poses nude, it would be frightening...

It was her time. Did you see the beginning of tonight's show when she and Sanjaya were singing and she forgot her words? The whole song was pretty horrible actually.

Chris R, Phil and Haley were in the bottom 3. Haley got the ax tonight. Whew, I didn't want Chris to go yet. Miss K you didn't miss much. They stretched 2 minutes of business into an hour long show.

Is there anything to think about this season?
This has got to be the worse season ever, so bad that they are resorting to bringing on some top name artists every week to boost ratings the way I see it.

I don't get the charity thing either. Yes, I think it's nice to send school supplies to Africa, but they're missing the boat in one aspect--where's the connection to music anywhere? AI is a music show. I would be much more impressed with their charity fundraising if they tossed in a bit of money for music education. So many music programs have been cut in the schools and that's a pity. Yes, teach the poor kiddies how to read and write, but nourish their souls if you can. Music education!!

I agree.
What they showed in the kit looked pretty basic and boring. You would think they could utilize the music connection and make the supplies more inspiring.

I am a new Jennifer Lopez fan. She was great last night. I loved her personality and interaction with the idols.

I don't really get it either. :idontno:

But I guess any giving is better than keeping it in their pockets. They certainly make enough from the commercials they put everyone through.

Good point Mermy. Simon Cowell's visit to Africa doesn't seem the least bit sincere either. It would be wonderful to see some of those funds go to music related programs. In the inner cities, lots of children turn to music, like rap, which is an art form in itself with it's rythym and rhyming. Almost poetic. Would be nice to see those kids exposed to other types of music, and learn at the same time about respect for woman and non use of certain words we find in the rap industry.

Also, the costs of instruments for rentals and/or purchase is extremely high. Donating instruments and funds for teachers would go a long way for children who have interest, but can't afford the costs.

My nephew is just hankering to play on the big piano (besides his little store bought organs) , and we're looking it to and found the prices of lessons extremely high. It would be wonderful if AI did have some sort of music scholarship programs. Look at Josh Groban, he played instruments, but no one really noticed he could actually sing until he was much older.

Thoughts?

Sanjaya is still there, which he should not be. IMHO.

Haley is a beautiful girl, and she will do well for herself in TV, Modeling, something of that nature.

I have to agree with the rest of you though. This is the worst Season by far, and I have watched everyone of them. Could the light be dimming???

So I have 2 questions for Supermom....do you think Sanjaya sounded good tonight? And do you think based on his performance tonight that he deserves to stay in the COMPETITION?

Melinda, Phil and Jordin ROCKED tonight!!!!!! :clap_1: :clap_1: :clap_1:

Rapunzel was here tonight- and we watched Idol. While eating, which was difficult.:floor: But, I did watch.

I love it that Sanjaya tried to look like Bonnie Raitt in addition to trying to sing her song. He may have a future in some sort of entertainment, but Idol is clearly not his place. Either Bonnie will come out and try to be gracious about the whole thing, or she is throwing up right now.

They should do away with country night. It doesn't work out well for these people.
