Actually, it was good. I came away from it excited for him. It's a new school, really nice, lots of things to offer. He's excited. It's still kind of sad, though.

It'll all be good and fun and exciting!! There's so many new things in high school! Be forewarned tho, it flies by even faster than any of the other school years.

Peapod, I can only say that time flies when you're having funn. I felt the same as you last Monday when Philippa sent in her acceptance to Purdue. My baby going to college!! Though I have to say I am thoroughly looking forward to it. I'll have the house ALL to myself. Hooray!

Anyway, in Indianapolis all the private and better public high schools hold their open houses in late January/early February. I've been seeing yard signs up advertising the different dates for a while now. Philippa volunteered for her school's open house already, so that's a done deal. And once the acceptance letters go out, orientation follows.

My biggest shocker years back when Alex was a hight school freshman: no supply list! I called the school asking why they didn't send one home and they told me "Oh, Mrs. N., that's so "grade school. We don't do supply lists in HS." That told me!

We have ours coming up in a few weeks. I can't believe my baby will be in high school. It seems like just yesterday he was getting on the bus for the first time in kindergarten and all of us mom's were standing there crying like babies. We got some good news last night though. Jesse made the JV Boys soccer team at his new high school and we are so excited!!!! Good luck Percy, it will all be fine, I have faith!

Sorry to say PP, but you drop them off on the first day of high school and they graduate the next day! Enjoy every minute! I had 16 straight years of one in high school. Where did the time go!!!!!

Yes, empty nesting. I can feel it right around the corner, even tho he's still a sophomore. I will admit tho to envisioning his bedroom as a small art studio. :rolling:

Well, you're all saying this, so it must be true--how is that?! How can things go even faster than they've gone already?
Darlene, I figured you were right on my heels with this, and congrats to Jess! :clap_1:
Today we find out the winners of the roles in the 8th grade class play--"Grease," no less. A mom told me the other day this is the saddest day for the 8th grade girls because so many come out of school crying!

Oh how funn! We went to an 8th grade Grease production a couple of years ago. A friend's son was playing Danny. It was great.

I wish our school put on plays. Sam tried out for a solo role in her June dance recital but didn't get one. She took it better than me!

I am sure Mr. Kitty has some tales about this. He still talks about being in "Bye Bye Birdie". Good luck!

Yeah, at our school it is the 8th graders' class project--they all have to put together the whole production. I think they get a grade for it...? Kind of a funn concept.
Miss Kitty, I just realized you've been officially renamed! I've been ignoring the Miss Kitty posts thinking it was an imposter (get it--imPOSTer--:floor: ), but it's really you!
P.S. Oops, forgot to report--L'il Pea #1 is Kenickie!
