Here goes...
I have been in a typical pattern for February....unmotivated and blah. I HATE this and it happens every year! It will pass, it always does...but, in the meantime I will now go take a shower!!!!
Oops! I still have my tree up (no ornaments), and some giant colored lights on a magnolia hanging over the driveway. Just too festive to take down and they make me happy.
) I smile. I'm not taking down anything!!!Oops! I still have my tree up (no ornaments), and some giant colored lights on a magnolia hanging over the driveway. Just too festive to take down and they make me happy. If I had a magnolia, dripping with Spanish moss, I'd have it lighted too. It sounds beautiful!
I so wish people in this area would TAKE THEIR CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS DOWN!!! Or at least NOT TURN ON THEIR OUTSIDE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!! It is just so weird to me. And it's not just 1 or 2 houses, I see a couple of houses in every neighborhood! Lindabobhat - do you too??
I understand (sort of) that it's to friggin' cold to remove some of it but come on.
outside lights on trees still up. every weekend's been too yucky--at least that's my excuse. If I had a magnolia, dripping with Spanish moss, I'd have it lighted too. It sounds beautiful!
But I love those big fat lightbulbs for some reason.Oops! I still have my tree up (no ornaments), and some giant colored lights on a magnolia hanging over the driveway. Just too festive to take down and they make me happy.

I thought Beach Jacket was the only one who still has her tree up! I've been bugging her that I was gonna drive to Atlanta and take it down myself. But she says the lights make her happy.
OMG!
We have neighbors that have at least a half dozen Christmas trees, and they keep them up until Easter. I forgot what the reason is -- they were featured in a newspaper article.
SoWal Stickers, Part Deux...
They are now procreating in my washing machine. I just found 3 more, 2 loads after the first 8 were found. They must really be enjoying the spin cycle!![]()
after vacation one time i washed the swimsuits/coverups together in a load, and was drying mr audie's trunks any my coverups. everything smelled like orangey coconut, couldn't figure out why until the dryer cooled and had hardened lip balm all over it. it was funn scraping that out. note to self - no lip balm in cover up pockets.....

Add some hearts to your tree!
back to the toilet paper issue - i know you won't believe this, but i sometimes take the paper off the roll and set it on the vanity just to irritate mr audie.you are so evil
I think every mother on earth has had that happen to her, except it's crayons instead of lip balm.for me it was chewing gum.....
I don't know about your neighbors, but my general rule of thumb is that Christmas absolutely must be dismantled before Good Friday. Think of it: it would be heartless to have items that celebrate Jesus' birth still hanging around on the day He is crucified. It makes sense to me and I bet it does to them.I agree.

*%$* i forgot the pics....

how do you live with yourself?! just call in with a migraine and never come back in! I have decided to just work all by myself!

LOL - It took me awhile to get all the indoor decorations down, but I quit turning them on about a week after Xmas. One of my friends couldn't believe it took me til almost the end of January to ultimately get them put away (but then again, I have had a lot on my plate lately!)
We had enough nice weather in early January for the outdoor decorations to come down - but I agree - if you haven't taken them down, just quit turning them on. A lot of towns even have ordinances for this now

I've decided to be the poster child for holiday light excess. If it makes me happy, well then , the lights will stay on. I can lie in bed and look out the window at my multi-colored bulbs- it is reassuring.

You go gull.My outside was down a long time ago oly because it was really warm here. BUT, I left the interior pine with lights on inside around the french doors, and it makes me happy to see some green especially in February, the dreariest month of the year.

You go girl. If I could, I'd leave them up all year long. Hey wait a second. I can if I want to - there's no one in this house that can tell me what to do anymore. But I'm too tired to put them back up - maybe next year. In the meantime, there's still the neoneseque palm tree in the sunroom!
