Snowing, snowing, snowing out there! Getting ready to leave work early, but we hear the roads are pretty bad. I don't care how long it snows, as longas I keep my electricity!

Glad you made it home ok. So are you making chili or soup for dinner tonight?

Thanks! Mmm, either sounds good. Mr. Lucky told me to surprise him. Anyone have a good chili recipe?

We got to leave early too, roads are bad but I have a short commute - about 7 miles. Took me about 10 minutes longer than usual. I am home, too. Be extra careful if you have to travel in this mess. I have to run out in a few hours to pick up my kids, but they're only a block away. In the meantime, I need to figure out how to use a snow blower. Forgot to get a lesson before Bob moved out!

My recipe is just easy.

1 pound of hamburger meat
1/4 onion browned with hamburger meat (drain)
Mix with
1 envelope of chili seasoning
2 can crushed tomatos
1 can chili beans
few sprinkles of chili powder

Simmer about 30 minutes.

I'm sure there are much better chili recipes, but it is fast and pretty good.

Biscuits are in the oven and the chicken pot pie is almost done. :clap_1: I made it more like a stew this time to pour over the biscuits instead of making a crust. So much less mess to clean up too.

Lucky, my chili recipe is just throwing everything together, meat, onions, dark and light kidney beans, diced tomatoes, sauce, water, chili seasoning. I'm not very adventurous. Sometimes I add a can of corn too and a little red pepper sauce afterwards. We also make taco salads with it. I rarely eat a bowl of chili plain. Gotta have the chips, cheddar and sour cream. Mmmm.

Just called my mom, too, to get hers, and yours is pretty close to what she does. Thanks for the idea and the recipe! Add a little cheese and some sour cream and we're in business!

Ooh - now that's an idea. Chili is always good when it's cold, but I just finished up my leftovers from last weekend. But that chicken pot pie sounds great!

Hey LBH, just wait 'til it quits. It's blowing so much now that you'll waste your time doing it.

Funny you should mention that. Cause I'm still sitting here in my nice warm basement trying to psych myself up into getting out there in that mess!!!!!!

I use the usual ingredients ground beef, kidney or black beans, onion, tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, paprika, and a special ingredient.....tequila. Add a little extra something!;-)

I love the idea of jsut "throwing everything together." Your pot pie sounds good on a day like this, too!

I have no chili powder :idontno: but mom seems to think a little taco seasoning will do?...

On a day like today, I think it will do the trick. I sure as heck wouldn't run out to buy chili powder in this weather.

All right, don't anyone try to stop me - I've got my Destin hoodie on and I'm going to brave the elements and figure out how to use that darn snow blower. If I don't post back in an hour, send out a search party!

Sometime before the next snowstorm, I need to figure out where the choke is on my snowblower. In order to start it, it said to turn the choke on, but I sure as heck couldn't find it. Thank goodness I am a veteran snow shoveler. I managed to take care of it manually (heck, it's good exercise anyway!)

I'd actually thought about that. A touch of taco seasoning did the trick, as well as a couple of spoonfuls of sugar and some ketchup ;-)

Was a hit with Mr. Lucky and I have to say, it wasn't half bad!
