Anyone have any favorites? I would like to see Martin Scorsese get an Oscar, and I really like Abigail Breslin. She proved that sweet and sincere goes a long way.

Red carpet time soon!

I'm finishing off the Cheerios now! I thought Cameron was lookin' like her cute self too. :D Hey, has Johnny Depp or Drew Barrymore been seen by anyone? or Reese? Gwyneth and Nicole were stunning and statuesque as usual.

I saw Reese.....similar hair to Golden Globes...dark purple, strapless dress with soft ruffles on the skirt. She looked good, but not my fav. I am amazed at how thin the actresses are. Since the camera is supposed to add pounds, can you imagine how thin they are in person?????

I loved her haircut, but really wanted to push that one piece out of her eye.

I think Reese was the best dressed, bar none. And thank God Jennifer Hudson took off the jacket for her win. :clap_1:

I liked the red sparkly number she wore in her singing number though I was afraid for a minute that she was going to fall out of it.

Helen Mirrin looked impossibly elegant in her gown, and Gywneth Paltrow's gown was beautiful too. And did you notice how her lipstick matched perfectly? I wish I had those drop earrings Anne Hathaway wore!

Forrest Whitaker's acceptance speech was very touching. All in all, a very entertaining evening. I didn't even mind Ellen, who does nothing for me. She made Merman and me laugh a few times.

It certainly looked as if everyone was dressed down for this Oscars night. Even hair and jewelry was very simple. It seems like the really big stars were the ones announcing the winners. All in all it just didn't seem over the top for an Oscar night. I would have loved to see one daring dress on an actress.....giving everyone something to talk about. I did noticed Beyonce' in the front row with legs up to high thighs exposed..then later on she had her dressed pulled to cover them. I think Reese, Gwyneth, and Nicole all had the same hair dresser. And what about Jack Nicholson's shaved appearance  :rolling: I thought Celine wowed them all with her dress....Speaking of WoW....I love the new WOW comercial! And with that I'm going back to bed...Nighty Nite:sleeping:

Agree about Gwynneth's gown, she was gorgeous, as was Reese, but I think my favorite was Penelope Cruz's dusty pink number--stunning, and her lipstick sort of matched, as well. Is long straight hair the trend these days?

I was a bit surprised that The Departed won Best Picture, but gratified that Scorsese won for Best Director, because he deserved it for his body of work, and even if I wasn't crazy about the writing for The Departed, the acting was certainly a credit to Marty.

I had thought that The Queen or Letters From Iwo Jima would win Best Picture (I haven't seen either, but really want to.) I liked Little Miss Sunshine but comedies don't win BP too often, and IMHO Little Miss Sunshine, though I did love it, isn't quite on the same level as, say, Shakespeare In Love, a comedy that did win its year.I liked the international/diverse flavor of the evening (must see Pan's Labyrinth, but it'll have to be a Netflix for me.)

Ellen Degeneres didn't wow me, but she did okay. I liked her little mini-interviews.

I loved Al Gore's almost-announcement. ;-)

I don't think too much of Penelope Cruz, but I liked her gown, too.

Penelope was the most stunning, IMO. Al and Leo cracked me up. and I really liked Ellen - she looked prettier than I've ever seen her.

I thought the same, that her makeup was very feminine and pretty. But what's the deal with those god-awful clodhopper shoes she wears? Are ugly shoes a trademark of hers? (Can you guess I liked Jennifer Hudson's Manolos much better. ;-) )

she doesn't dress well from head to toe - that's her trademark! but her hair and make up were really nice.

jennifer was just adorable.

ok people, i will be the debbie downer here - we watched the last 1 1/2 hrs and i think this could possibly be the most godawful boring oscars i have seen in years. ellen was soooo boring from what i saw, there were no racy gowns, no controversies, ho hummmmmmm.......

i thought queen latifah looked really nice. sorry, i think reese looks like a ferret with her pinched little face (just my opinion, i know everyone else likes her). thank god martin scorsese won so everybody will quit whining about him...what's up with a bald jack nicholson ? leo looked particularly hot, as did marky mark.

and my big question of the evening? how much money was represented on the stage when george lucas, frances ford coppola and steven spielberg all were presenting together ??? i suspect more than i can imagine - and i can imagine a lot !

reporters and radio people are predicting jerry seinfeld will be hosting next year - you know what would be great ? george carlin hosting the oscars....wow  that would be a night to remember...

audie, you have a good point! even though I enjoyed the show as much as any other time. let's face it. the red carpet show leading up to the oscar's is always more interesting than the actual show. the oscar's is always too long and rather boring, IMO. I still enjoy some parts though.

Mark Wahlburg - my new boyfriend.

Queen Latiffa is always a hottie.

I kinda liked Jack's new look.

but, I'm telling you the hottest person there, IMO, was Diane Keaton! she is just so gorgeous!

you are so right about diane - she looks wonderful - i wonder what her secret is ? i look worse than her and i'm probably 20 years younger....
i was disappointed that eddie murphy got passed on, it would have been sweet vindication for him after the beating he takes for his movies and personal life.

I didn't watch the Oscars. I don't care to much for them. But I do love Diane Keaton, she and Meryl Streep are my most favorite female actors. Tootsie, have you seen "Somethings Gotta Give". Diane was fantastic in this movie and so was Jack Nicholson. It is one my favorites. If any of you have not seen it, it is very good. IMHO.

Where was Brad:idontno:
I loved Rachel W's dress!
I thought Jennifer Hudson did come out of her red dress, it looked like she adjusted herself when she turned to the right side. Nothing was stopping her, not even her dress!
