Anyone have any favorites? I would like to see Martin Scorsese get an Oscar, and I really like Abigail Breslin. She proved that sweet and sincere goes a long way.

Red carpet time soon!

Penelope Cruz- best dress for sure. And Helen Mirren. I liked Cameron Diaz' dress- but unfortunately she was in it. Little Abigail looked darling- very age appropriate.

I thought Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts looked like they just signed up to guest star on The Wiggles (the red and yellow thing - Australians stick together ya know). Yes, the red was pretty, but the bow was cartoonish and looked like she could either hide things or barf into the one plopped like a bowl on her shoulder. Her hair was so severe- she looked like Jessica Rabbit (that flat ironed severe straight look got really old last night). Naomi in a yellow dress- what an awful look. Add a hat and she has a getup like Queen Elizabeth wears to tea.

Gwyneth got my thumbs down too- I didn't like the color or style- she is such a pretty girl, but not last night. She had "Nicole" hair too- I think they called each other and planned it.

Clooney never looks bad. I'm worried that Al Gore is going to explode- how much does he weigh now??? Scorcese looked like he got a special dye and blowout for his eyebrows. Clive Owen- sigh.

Ellen did a fine job- I like her style.
Don't hold back. How do you really feel?????? ;-)

:floor: It's called 2 hours of sleep in 48 hours (sick child). I had no patience with some of those looks last night!!

Would you like me to bust anybody's chops for you today? I'm in the perfect frame of mind!!

Jenay, this wrap-up is hilarious! :lolabove:
I was so disappointed in Gwynnie; I want to be her, but last night was an exception.
P.S. Are you willing to bust chops for people other than steele mama?

I saw him sitting next to her in the audience.

Ryan ( E! red carpet) asked where her husband was. She answered he's already backstage. I'm guessing he wanted to dodge any uncomfortable questions. ( rehab etc.)

What was that color last night that several stars were wearing? Flesh? dark salmon?

Is it just me or did anyone else think that Beyonce and Jennifer were in a contest to see who could out perform each other? I haven't seen the movie, so I don't know if this was a part from their scene.

I'm sure Beyonce feels overshadowed by all of Jennifer's publicity and success. Oh well. They are both grayt!

I admit, I was not impressed with most on the red carpet. but these are my final faves for their elegance and beauty:

Nicole Kidman - I loved her in red - it's the ideal color for her (I could never ever wear it), and the bow was great on her - but I doubt anyone else could have worn it as well.

Penelope Cruz - the most gorgeous gown I've ever seen
Beyonce
Diane Keaton - smart, sharp, beautiful. loved her hair!
Cate Blanchett
Reese Witherspoon - she was perfect
Jennifer Lopez, the goddess
Kate Winslet - liked the gown, not the color
Gweneth Paltrow - did not like the gown at all, but she was still beautiful
Cameron Diaz - not crazy about her gown, but she just glows

Mark Wahlberg - cute!!!
Jack Nicholson - I think he looks way better as a baldie. I read it was for a role he's playing (terminally ill).

Meryl Streep - I'm loving that she wore a some kind of kimino looking wrap with funky beaded jewelry, like she was going out to dinner. nothing fancy. but adorable and just herself. she can do whatevah she wants!

jdarg, you are right about marty's eyebrows!!!:clap_1: wonder who styled them?

Where was Brad? Did anyone see him? I think if you were the producer of the Best Picture wouldn't you be at the biggest award ceremony of the year?

Many of you were asking in the live chat where Brad and Angie were last night. Turns out Angelina had more important good deeds to do. Angie skipped the show to hang out in Africa on behalf of the United Nations to monitor the crisis in Darfur. Brad evidently stayed home with the kids. He didn't miss much, though. After all the hype, Babel ended up up with only one Oscar for the night and that was for best score!
