I've been wondering where she has been. Tell her to get her butt back to SoWal, pronto! Glad Sunshine is okay. My doggies seem fine and healthy, but this list goes on and on of tainted dog food. I am almost ready to start baking my own dog food. I've done it before, and am not scared to do it again, but that is a lot of baking. They like the raw produce, too, but they eat mucho food.

I met a dog that's on a raw food diet. His food is delivered bi-weekly to his house. His mom is an exec at Universal though. And he has a nanny to tend to him during the days, so I imagine it's a wee bit pricey.

I have made plenty of homemade dog food with brown rice mixed with lamb or chicken pieces sauteed with onion, garlic, carrot, celery and anything good left in the fridge. dogs love this so much more than dog food!!! you only need to make it up once a week (a big batch) or so. maybe I'll try this again...

 Poor Sunshine! Glad she is better Sweetie and i can't wait to see them in a few weeks!

A good friend of mine owns Sunshine dog food in Red Bay, AL....maybe I should just call her and buy direct! Have they added more brands to that list? Sweetie's food was not on it before, has it changed?

Dammit--I miss a lot when I'm glued to the TV! Glad Sunshine's ok--i bet it did scare the crap outta her. I've made dog biscuits too--and I thought about making food too when all this started. But I'm with you, SJ, that's a lot of baking! Can't wait to see Cork and Sunny at the soiree!

Yes, last week more brands were added to the recall list and now it includes dry food, too, and cat food. Number one reason why to buy foods grown locally, no matter if it is dog food or human food -- it doesn't affect the entire freaking world if you get some bad food.

No...but that sound very odd! wonder what it does to the dogs?

Her father started the business years ago for hunting dogs actually. The first batch was mixed in the back yard in a wheelbarrow. I left her a message today, I know it is made there on site (you can smell it a looong way off) and they don't buy any ingredient from anywhere else. Maybe that would be the best thing to do is just buy from her.:idontno:

Allifunn,

I know you are in Augusta today. But, when you get a minute, how's Corky's Dad doing?

I am so happy Sunshine is OK. I'd hate to miss out on an opportunity to doggie sit her at the soiree. (so corky can ask the next day why i wasn't there. :floor: she did that last time, i know it had nothing to do with the jello shots she was passing around the bonfire. ;-))

Ours too! FBB and I took turns snuggling little Sunshine, she was so shivery. We stood as close as we could stand to the bonfire to get her warm. FBB LHAF when he read Cork's post wondering why we never showed. :funn:Good times.
