How does a mom stay calm when there are bombings in a country her son will be traveling to soon? And when she can't get him on the phone just to hear his voice?

Miss Kitty, that boy of yours is just being a boy. That means he doesn't have a clue about how you are worrying and when you talk to him next, he's going to be surprised that you've been frantic. Mark my words, this is what's going to happen! Boys are maddening creatures.

I know he's alright. All of SoWal is sending good thoughts his way and yours!

You're making me laugh. Tonight Merman and I took a walk down the Monon Trail (which is like the path in SoWal) and ended up near Broad Ripple Village. That's our version of Greenwich Village. Lots of cute shops, bars, and tons of young people. We were the oldest people there and it sure was funn going "sightseeing."

Anyway, we walk by this one bar with great big open windows just like Bud & Alley's has and on the spur of the moment we decided to go in for a beer. They had a $2 Killians special. Merman remarked that we were old enough to be everyone's parents, and that all those sweet young things "don't come in for the cheapie special." (true true) Hand me the blue plate, honey!!

Hang in there!!! When the youngest was abroad and in third world countries, I would not watch the news. I always believe it is good when I do not hear from one of my girls. If there is a problem, I always get a call.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could come out of the sadness and scariness of the word Cancer, just long enough or longer, for friends and family of terminally ill folks to throw the best bash ever in honor of this life and moving on to heaven or the next life ...

Wonderful idea, it's a shame most people that ill don't feel well enough to attend a party. I think the treatment for my daddy's cancer made him feel much worse than the cancer did. Sure would be nice to have a party with him this week. He loved huge family cookouts with volleyball, kickball and babies or little ones everywhere.

Ummmm......if one was going to pick one up from the A.P. wouldn't said picker upper one need to know some details....such as, what airport? what time? what kind of beer should I have cold for said someone?
