Yes! But now I just got off the phone with my Daddy. He was supposed to come for the fourth, but is awaiting news on possible surgery. :( Be strong my heart.

So happy you heard from Stephen.

I am with you in thoughts and prayers for your daddy.

 ...the power of sowal lives on!!!! Thanks one and all!!! Mr. K got an email from the wayward son today and then I just received one...

Hi,

I got a new phone number but I only have about 5 minutes worth of time on it, so I will have to wait until tomorrow so I can get some more minutes on it. Everything is going fine, we went to Belfast and the hurling match at Croke Park over the weekend.

I will call you tomorrow

Steven

  ...I like the other one better...

Hi, I have a new phone number now, I will write or call you with it later to
inform you about it. Belfast was pretty cool, we went to Stormont Parliament
and then we went around and saw all the murals. On Sunday we went to a hurling
and Gaelic football match at the 82,000 seat Croke Park. The bomb that went off
in Glasgow airport is not the airport that I would fly into, I would be flying
into Prestwick I think its called.

Talk to you later,

Steven

 ...except that last statement doesn't exactly help me.

I'd be confused, too, because as far as I know, if you fly into Glasgow, Prestwick is the airport you go to! Unless they've built another airport since I've been there??? Like I said, boys are maddening. They don't have their heads tuned into the details. But anyway, I looked this up for you. It's a statement from the airport that you may find reassuring, Kitty:

“As a result of the alleged terrorist incident at Glasgow Airport on Saturday we responded immediately and put in place a range of additional precautionary security measures.
“These measures, which include restricting vehicle access to the terminal frontage, remain in place.
“All passenger drop-off and pick-up is taking place in our car parks and we provide a ten minute free of charge period to allow this.
“As a result of the closure of Glasgow Airport on Saturday, we accommodated a large number of additional flights and passengers. Our airport and staff coped very well with this.
“Passengers will notice an increased police presence around the airport, and our own security measures have been stepped up.
“All flights are operating as normal and passengers should ensure they allow themselves plenty of time.”

So it looks like they're on top of the situation.

BTW, we're having hot dogs for dinner because we're too poor to eat well. The tax man cometh, you know. :bang:

No way. We're not finished comforting you.

Just think how much tighter security will be there than it is at, for instance, New Zealand's airport. Nothing like a threat to put everyone on their toes.

I was in London a couple of years ago, right after the bombings on the tube and bus. The group we were with didn't want us on the tube or buses as a result, but I imagine it was probably safer than it had ever been.

Either way, you're in my prayers! (And your daddy, too!)

I made a bet with David this weekend, if I win he cooks tonight and if he wins I cook tonight. Dang, I thought it was a sure bet. Anyway, I cooked roast with potatos, carrots, onions, English peas, corn, and rolls. I'm stuffed. Oh yea, sweet tea with lemon.

I love cake batter ice cream.

I'm so jealous...Sam got invited to a party on top of one of the buildings downtown for Red White and Boom. We went to one several years ago like that and it's by far the best way to go.
