Since road biking is frowned upon in SoWal  why not join me in the High Mountians of NC for The Hot Doggett 100  Just think how much cooler NC will be in July than FL :idontno:

DD, I saw Amy(?) and her husband on Oprah again yesterday. It was a follow-up show about the sinus flush.
Yeah, I tivo'd it, but didn't watch last night. They are so darling and really have enjoyed this whole Oprah thing.

I hope you're a quick draw, bike boy. Now that I've been labeled a Road Raged Auto Driver I went out and got myself some proper wheels.....:floor:
I hope you still like it with hot pink paint ball marks.
I recall the bicyclists in Athens, GA getting together to create awareness and change regarding the lack of bike lanes on the roads. They would select a day or two every year, and collectively ride down the streets at a slow pace. Their point was, respect the bicyclists because they have every legal right to be on the road. If you you don't want to share the road, we can be a pain in your @ss by riding in the middle of the lane, not allowing you to pass. I'm almost positive that I could p_ss off some motorists if I really wanted to. Right now, I choose to ride on the white line. If you guys push me, I will begin to move closer to the center of the lane. ;-)

When did the motto "share the road w/ bicycles" change to "I've got ammo?"
Hard to aim from the ditch after Uncle Timmy's tooth car takes you out 😉
I vote part of the scenic 30A project be to widen the roads to allow for bike lanes for those who don't want to ride on the bike path.

The motto, "share the road" has not changed to "I've got ammo." That motto was reserved by angry motorist who threaten to run bikers into the ditch. ;-)

I'm sticking with my point from the last thread. It's the beach, chill out -enjoy the scenery and enjoy a slower ride on the BIKE PATH.
If you want to high speed train, then there are better roads than 30-A for that.

...and I'll see you on the road. ;-) I am very chill when riding my bike, until people pretending to be driving autos go by, yelling cuss words at me, or trying to cause me to wreck. That will quickly change my mood.

I know this is the proverbial hot button issue with you, but there is no reason demonize everybody who supports the idea that Bikers ought to be strongly encouraged to use the bike path.
I am not honking at anybody. Nor have I tried to cause anybody to wreck or yelled cuss words at people on bikes.
30-A is just not the best place to ride bikes. I support anyone who wants to ride on the bike path, or even ride on a more suitable roadway. 30-A is unique, because of the 2 lanes, limited alternative roads, and the high number of out-of-towners using it. All this adds up to a bad place to add a further layer of congestion and visual distractions in the form of bikes on the road.

Timmy, the truth is that not all people who bicycle belong on roads. We are not in disagreement there. For that matter, not all people driving autos, should be driving them on roads either. Most auto drivers around here seem to be willing to share the roads, and it is only a few who seem to own the entire road. That is most likely the case anywhere across America. When these few people decide to yell at me and try to cause me to crash, I just quickly extend my finger, and let them know that they are number one in my book. ;-)
