I skydived once before I had kids - LOVED it as I love sensation of free falling and wish I had the guts to bungy jump but I am too chicken for that!!!!!!

Watch this!:yikes:Talk about a close call. Watch for the skydiver falling right into the path of the plane below.

you're a brave woman chick (or crazy ;-) )...audie don't like heights. my in-laws live out by the airport and we love to go watch the skydivers out there in the summer.

I highly recommend it. (Pun not intended, but now that it's there I'll keep it.)

So who technically had the right-of-way in that situation?

Years ago I had the opportunity to bungee jump from a 110' high platform suspended by a crane. Can't say I'd ever attempt it again :yikes: , but at least I can "check it off the list". Would love to skydive just to feel what must be the surreal sensation of standing in the open door and falling from a completely functional aircraft.

I guess that depends whether or not the pilot reported jumpers out on the radio.

I jumped once, and cannot say that the excitement lasted long enough to do it again. Also, considering that 2 out of the 11 jumps that day had major FUs, it is probably good that I got that out of my system.

2 out of 11? 😱 😱 18 percent??

OK. Disregard my above "I'd love to skydive" statement.

"Surreal" is a good word for it. I've done high-element swings, rapelling, etc., and jumping from 14,000 isn't half as scary because when you look out of the plane it just doesn't register. Even free-falling is less like falling than being blasted in the face with a whole lot of air. I would make sure I didn't jump where Smiling Joe jumped; I don't like those odds!

My brother once told me about a group (that included some members of Monty Python) called the Dangerous Sports Club. One of the activities was the reverse of your bungee jump: You're strapped down to a platform on the ground, and a 300-foot crane stretches the bungee upward. Release straps, try not to black out and get tangled in the bungee...😱

They also liked to go down ski slopes on large objects not associated with skiiing, like Venitian Gondolas, giant inflatable elephants, and grand pianos. Ah, to be young, rich and foolish...

Based on your location, it wouldn't surprise me to discover that you jumped at the same location, except it looks like they bought some new jump suits.

As for reverse bungee, you can do that in PCB, I believe. Thanks, but no thanks. I listened in science class and think that could be hazardous to my health, being slingshot to the pivot point.

when Flyforfun and I are flying for funn and we are anywhere near where they sky dive they are constantly on the radio saying "jumpers in the air, jumpers in the air!" and they give the position. Also on our sectional maps it shows a little parachute jumper guy where all the jumpers are.

Someone screwed up! He must not have been on the radio.:idontno:

The plane looked very old school. Maybe his radio was on the fritz. :idontno:

FFF and I just watched again and stopped it on the plane. He said it looks like a kit/experimental plane and the guy probably was not monitering his radio. Big Dummy!

Are you talking about the video or where you jumped?

Funny thing--the instructor who jumped with me was a guy named Joe, who lives in Sandestin. Small world (unless you're crashing into it, I suppose.)

Is there anything potentially lethal that can't be done in PCB?

I almost jumped from a plane. Almost! A former Green Beret hottie took me up in a plane to jump as a date many moons ago when I was single.
Here's what happened.......... :puke:

I don't know where the video was shot. It was a youtuber. For the place where you jumped, do the initials S.A. come to mind?:idontno:
