Not before and after, just the after from aerial photos -- all of MS gulf coast and most of LA in the area where Katrina hit, including New Orleans. You can zoom in pretty close.

Technology is a wonderful thing sometimes. I just found a satellite photo of friend of mine's home which was obviously destroyed during Kuntrina. His home is circled and the photo is from Waveland, MS.

Speaking of satellites, does anyone know, can guide me to, the technology on the web that allows people to see their house/neighborhood from the sky? I know or thought google has something like this, but cannot locate it.
Or maybe this is an internet legend.

Google maps has this, but the pictures are sometimes months old, so there probably won't be any post-Katrina images there.

I posted this as another thread. Go to this site to see your house. It takes a little time to upload, but you can zoom in on the photos to see your house. Note that the photos actually overlap and are not quite to scale on the first couple of pages when narrowing in on your focus.

Thanks. My neighborhood isn't on there yet, but others thank you.

"Google Earth" is amazing - but they will be old photos.

I believe they will be updating the site. Keep checking back. They just uploaded LA today. You do have to search around on those squares to find a particular place, and all of the squares should be overlapping when you actually pull up the photos. They really need to interlink this photography with GPS so that anyone could search for a particular street address. The gov't probably does not want that technology to get into the hands of tarests (W's spelling).

They posted a message on their website saying they were okay. He's a local artist and he put a message out there for his friends and family. He's really great if you want to take a look at his stuff.
