Why is everyone so surprised? I thought it was common knowledge that the levee system was rapidly disentegrating and the pumps were insufficient and in disrepair.........

Or as they put it on the "Daily Show": How come the lady in the plastic raincoat w/ the pink curlers in her hair the Weather Channel/news interviewed knew the levees were going to break, but none of the engineers or experts did?

actually the curlers are radio attachments to the alien planet that caused the hurricane in the first place to make way for the water landing close to a viable river to invade upstream!
