UPDATE!!!

Inlet Beach Publix is participating in this program! I am not sure about the other Publix outlets in our area. It looked to me like there were no strings attached-a prescription for any of the eligible antibiotics for a treatment period of up to 2 weeks would be honored. Off the top of my head, there was free amoxicillin(Amoxil), TMP/SMX(Bactrim), cephalexin(Keflex), ciprofloxacin(Cipro), penicillin(Pen VK), erythromycin and ampicillin.

I did not see whether or not this program included only pills/caps or if it included suspensions/syrups.

These 'old' antibiotics are very useful for many conditions that warrant outpatient antibiotic therapy. However, they may not be appropriate for all situations, so ask your doctor if there is a reason your treatment plan can not include these freebies...

They're giving it away out there but the government can't negotiate prices with PharmaWorld. How nice!

Pharmaworld with a capital P doesn't care too much about generic antibiotics.

Goodnight ladies;good sleep starts with good sleep hygiene, not pills. OK, a little nip of liquor helps make the eyelids feel heavy:biggrin:

Dr. Skunky....can you explain "good sleep hygiene" to me. What, do you wash your eyeballs out with soap or something? :idontno:

So many doctors are warning against people misusing antibiotics, and Publix is giving away antibiotics. Interesting. Seems like they could have come up with something else to give away.

I'm narcoleptic, so all bets are off. Ladies: Benedryl is wonderful for one or two nights!

Dr. Skunk, make my mono go away. I'm tired of it.

Basic antibiotics are a great medication to give away;it is the doctors who need to hold firm and not overprescribe them, as this is why people are misusing them. I hope some tried and true cardiovascular meds make their way onto the free formulary.

I thought I would try the alcohol hygiene. Drinking a few of those new Miller Chill beers. They aren't as good as I envisioned, but they are making me a little sleepy. I might be a awake before dawn, but at least I will sleep for little while.
