I have been thinking about all of you frolicking on the beaches of SoWal. Conch Out has been packed to the rafters all summer, so you have encountered some of its fans, no doubt. I am looking forward to two weeks down there in October, my fav month. In the meantime, I am enjoying the summer on Bainbridge Island. The harbor that is the uninterrupted view from my deck offers a constantly changing tableau. Sea birds scavenge clams at low tide, dropping them onto the deck to expose the flesh and eat it. Quite amusing to watch. Some evenings at sunset, I watch the couple of bald eagles who live around here preen and flirt with one another at the tip-top of the cedars towering over the deck. We have mostly sunny days and cool nights, and I can see the stars through the skylights in my master bedroom. Sometimes I feel very far away, but that is why we have airports. See you all, or at least some of you, soon enough. Enjoy your summer, wherever you are.
