Our part-time Rosemary Beach resident, Presidential advisor Karl Rove has resigned the Bush White House 17 months before Bush leaves office. Question? Does he leave a hero who helped guide President Bush and the American people the last 7 years or was he Bush's "brain," deceptive, and overly partisan?

Political advisors don't qualify as heroes in my book. They should be judged on the body of work they have amassed during their career...nobody can argue that Rove was/is damn good at delivering what he promises. With that said, of course, Democrats will despise the guy eternally and keep his name front and center because he is good for fundraising purposes.

Thanks fellow LSU alumni.....but, if he was damn good, as you say, at "delivering what he promised," then, in your opinion, what did he deliver?

Pick up the latest issue of The Atlantic. Good article/hit piece in there.

I accept Rove for what he is - a shrewed, smart political operative. Say what you will about advice he has given Bush, but the guy knows how to win an election. I neither love him nor hate him. But if I wanted to win a given election, he'd be the first one I called.

He's leaving a ship with an extreme starboard list. I suspect he'll be working on his upcoming testimony whilst at Rosemary.

No, I mean the Democrats will keep him front and center for the forseeable future...demonizing the man and scaring people regarding what he might be up to next is good for fundraising;they need it too, as the RNC currently has much more moolah on hand than does the DNC.

If you go with the premise that W is an idiot, he made that idiot run laps around Anne Richards, Al Gore and John Kerry. Not too bad for a PR guy.

Well if he ever writes a book, and I am sure he will, I will certainly pick it up.

Cannot wait to read Atlantic Monthly piece - loved the cover!

Rest assured, he will write a book. I am sure that being equated to the anti-Christ for more than a decade and remaining silent makes one's hand itch for pen and paper.

I am sure you are right - and if he is candid it may actually be an interesting read!
