I think it's Head Dick:biggrin:
Head Dick? I thought there was one more person ranked above him, making Cheney the VP Dick.

Dick Cheney's brief thoughts on invading Iraq. >>>clicky<<<

I can't quite figure it out myself...obviously VP Cheney is a very smart man and very articulate in the video--he had complete and studied, clarity of the Mid East situation in 1994, and knew of the religious fractionalization of the general area. I know he pretty much has told Bush what to do all along.

And, yes, I am a left leaning Democrat, BUT I refuse to believe Cheney helped push the war button simply because he new it would grow the coffers of Haliburton!

many more companies than Halliburton. So many friends, so many lobbyists, so little time.

This war is much deeper than growing Haliburton's coffers, or Blackwater's, etc. War churns many coffers, and it isn't only their cronies'. Spending that kind of money also churns the economy in general. As employees make more, they pay more taxes, and they spend more money, and so the greasy hamster churns the butter wheel.

That statement has always made me sick at heart and sick to my stomach at the same time.

imagine one half trillion dollars to invest in education/infrastructure, or paying down our debt!

But doesn't it seem that even when there is no war to pay for, that money never gets spent correctly? :idontno:

Those in power know where to spend to keep power. In their minds they are spending correctly, even if they know it is wrong.

the question becomes why do we, the American people, allow people to remain in power who are doing the wrong things.....where is the outrage?

As long as football is broadcast on television and Budweiser or some other inexpensive beer is available to the average American, you will see no outrage. Let's see, I can watch the series of American Chopper this afternoon, while relaxing, or I can read up on a politician and get all pissed off....

I know, I know, Smilin Joe, but my question is: why is this true? Why don't more Americans care about what is happening? Call me naive, I guess, but I am a child of the 60s and back then we took to the streets....why not now?

:nono1: Now you know the gov't doesn't like outrage and people standing up to the gov't. ;-)
