Now I have an idea how to get the ladies at the Tax Collector's office to hate me. Coins! I can also save the 8% which the coin wrapper machines charge to count and roll coins!:biggrin:

Wow Audie, I've been to Muncie, even got lost while I was there so I saw lots of it. I'd have to agree with him, that seems awfully high. I'm not sure I saw property that would justify that high a tax bill, though they must be there. But I'd be mad too if I had to pay that bill.

better use them a gov't office because the Feds don't require private businesses to accept coins as payment. ;-) They allow businesses to create their own policies regarding what they will take as payment.

SJ, you're so funny. It's only wishful thinking on my part to say that I could pay our new property taxes in pennies! Although I do like the idea of presenting the tax man with a pound of pennies. You know, for a symbolic pound of flesh. (Audi will understand.) :bang:

I may be borrowing some handtrucks to deliver my payment of taxes.

We had a guy pay a fine in dollar bills. Since we always need change, the ladies thanked him. Being as that was not the desired response, the jerk started running his mouth. Meet Mr. Bailiff...

Do you mind running next door and seeing if those ladies need some coins? Tell them that it won't take as long to count out the coins if they taxes were lower. (wink, wink) I'll set aside several hours of my day for that trip. I might even call the newspapers.

BTW, you may want to tell those ladies to get some big buckets for the coins. They are not going to fit into the cash registers.
