New Swim Speed Record...

...Set this afternoon at Grayton by Tootsie, Beachmom, friend of Toots, and Jdarg, who were out blissfully floating in the emerald green waters, only to be disrupted by a MF shark. Thankfully, nice people on shore got our attention and made the shark sign, and we very calmly made our way in.
NOT!!!!:floor: We were swimming MACHINES!!

Toots, friend of Toots, and Beachmom hauled a$$, while I paused to yell at Bdarg, who was too freakin' interested in the shark and not saving his wife and mother of his children. :bang:

We spent 5 minutes getting our hearts out of throats, then figured we deserved Red Bar margaritas, which were enjoyed while floating in the outflow. Whew.

Yikes, glad you are here to report the experience, what is the shark sign?

Not being a beach resident I would hate to be out in the water and be waving at someone that was giving me the shark notice.

I saw everyone at the lake you should be more worried about what's in the lake than the sharks.:yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

:floor: Sorry to laugh, the question just struck me as funny. It's sign language, you might say. Putting your hand on top of your head in the shape of a fin.

Never apolgize for laughter, there is much too little of it these days.

But I could just see myself floating out there being your typical nonbeach resident and someone waving at me and me waving back  while I was about to become some shark's next meal. :yikes:

Thanks for the warning.:D

I've never been so panic-stricken and I've never moved so fast (even though it felt like I was getting nowhere fast). I must admit that this was a first for me (all of us!). Never until today have I had the "get back on shore, there is a shark" signal from the folks on shore. and we were having SUCH funn out there!!! the water was as clear as I've ever seen it.

the dang shark kept circling back and eventually everyone cleared out from the gulf.

:yikes: Glad you got out safely. I think I will be careful when playing in the water. When it is as clear as you described, it is hard not to enjoy. Thank goodness for the folks on the shore.

was it more of a crowd "finning" (pic#1) or just a few (pic#2)

:drink: I would have been like the pic to the left after that

OMG, jdarg, glad you all escaped the shark. I can't imagine how scared you must have been.

I would have thought that the shark sign would have been the "Gator Chomp" because that's what we do when we hear the music from Jaws at Gator games.

Thank goodness The Princess wasn't with you.
