It was Garth Brooks I think. But don't be asking about the 8 track, or cassette tapes.

I guess I"m kind of a geek when it comes to music. I actually remember my first album I bought! Grand Funk's E Pluribus Funk.
Even Mr. JR remembers his too, The Fifth Dimension. Quite a contrast in our tastes at that time.

"Do You Love Me?" by The Contours. I had an older cousin whom I really thought was cool, and she was teaching me how to dance. I thought I was so cool, too.

Motown stuff. My older cousin shared her Supremes collection. Baby Love was my favorite.

First 45: Crocodile Rock

First vinyl album (not counting the Disney ones my mom bought me): Bay City Rollers

First CD - my bf at the time bought my first CD player and a CD to go with it - Phil Collins, No Jacket Required.

I remember we were all enthralled on how clear the sound was on a CD - and you could listen to it in the car, AND you could skip to the track you wanted!!!

Our kids are SO spoiled...

Ok. New Kids On The Block - Hanging Tough. I was pretty upset that Christmas because I wanted a 'double' tape boom box. But I got a CD player instead. What can I say? My parents where ahead of the times!

First 45 I am sure was something by Elvis and probably LP vinyl too. Even though I did have an LP by Fats Domino too that I got for Christmas.

Funny how you never just went out and bought them, at least not in my family, it has to be a special occassion.

First CD, probably Frank Sinatra.

can't remember first CD ,but first album Steppenwolf "The Pusher" I got a older cousin to buy it for me when I was in the 10th grade, when I played it she was soo mad at the language in it. I though it was soo cool. I'd had lots of 45's before that. but I'll always remember The Pusher" I don't think I even knew what a pusher was pushing back then. Years later I called someones brother's friend that and they laughted and informed me they were not called that any longer. Oh well
