Honest Test - miles per gallon

I am interested in a non-scientifc survey and would greatly appreciate your help fellow Sowallers.

Wait till your car is pretty much empty and then fill it up - note number of gallons used, reset your mileage marker to ZERO and then drive it until you need to fill tank again and note how many miles you have driven. Ideally this should be reflective of your typical routine (that is hopefully mixture of city and neighborhood streets and highways).

Please post results with type of car you drive.

Many thanks in advance for all cooperation.

16.2 mpg, toyota sequoia 4WD, but I don't do many highway miles. -- Better than the mileage posted on the window sticker, which states 15mpg city, but I'm not a lead foot, nor am I carting around 5 soccer players.

440 miles on a 13 gallon tank, as of last night. 33.8+ mpg. All city/backroad miles. Does 35 mpg on the highway. Would do better, I'm sure if it wasn't so much funn to drive it fast!

MINI Cooper convertible.

My Yamaha 125cc scooter gets 80 mpg, and she's for sale...;-)

42 mpg on a 2006 Honda Goldwing...
11 mpg on my 66 Mustang...

Guess which one gets a lot of garage time?

Thanks for this info guys.

Just completed mine - just under 45mpg in Prius for driving 90% on County Road 30A - will test out highway one of these days.

Thanks again

Like I told you last night-about 34 MPG in the Civic, almost all Hwy 98 and I-10. Not too shabby.

You must have a 289 in that Mustang, too. My moves only a little bit each year. My dad has a few Shelbys which get less than that, like 6 mpg. (yikes!)
